900 bux for 300 bux worth of buckets and drip rings and pumps you can buy at any hydro store - I mean it has a tuff box as a res

I find it hard to believe somebody who was growing for 10 years would pay 900 bux for something they could soooo easily make

you buy that system or are you peddling it?

either way please refrain from posting any more links for the system

I bought it with the floor scrap left over from my last round. I actually work so i don't have time to waste building a complete system from scratch any more..super improvement for this concept. THX for support Scrobubbles..

You know, I just did the same thing. Dropped a g on a 24 site system. I just don't have the time to spend trial and error on a DIY system. I work about 50 hours a week, and this is way better than having to tinker with something for a month before its set the way I want it... lol

System is sick and easy to use. I have a 4 bucket PG system and it has been working great. With the black buckets I didn't have to run to HD and buy some IR blocker for my buckets. I also think with the lower water I don't have to over feed or use more nutes than needed. Happy to see another PG system out there and look forward to the show.

I used the DM Gold A&B for the first round with rapid start. This round I am trying out the Add, Zone, Liquid Light, and rapid start.

You've obviously not put your own together, because you're not going to save more than a buck or two over buying it from CC.

There are many reasons why someone might build their own UC, but if the reason is cost that person is a fool.

"I can build a 420 site UC with 80 gallon modules for $56.23..." It's like the kid who thinks he's ready to move out of his folks' house because he did the math and his pay check covered his rent and power. Never mind fuel to get to that job, or food, or that flat tire, or car insurance, etc. etc. etc...

gettogrow....Nice system. Is your state free of Tax? Cause I have bought most of the same shit and its little more with tax. Also did you fly there? What about gas? Your car does take gas right? Then did it all cut its self? Did it also drill it self? What is your time worth? Do you work for a living? What is your hour rate? Now be honest with yourself....how long did it take to do it ALL? Also how many re trips to the depot did you take? Like I said nice system....some of us value our personal time.....I prefer to grow in my older wise age, not tinker.

YO 101 can we get some pic updates? Would love to see this rocking?

I have a UC 8XL that I mess around with, I could of defiantly built one.. But what's a few hundred bucks and headache worth? I made my money back on the first run 10 fold.. I took it out of a box, put it together and loaded plants... 4# later...I forgot the price tag...

As well as some gardeners I know aren't the handiest plumbers in the world and don't want 50 gallons of water on the floor while "experimenting"..

If ya got the skill and the time, build that shit!

Ghetto I fucking love those brutes and huge totes!!

Crush it.

I can see that someone with no construction skills would just pay $1800 for some buckets and pvc pipe. Its really easy and it will pay for itself 10 times over. You do need to know how to use a chop saw and a cordless drill. I figure if I added in sales tax and the 2 hours labor to build it I probably only saved a grand. I get added satisfaction from seeing plants grow in something I built.

Im not dogging people for buying a premade system. Just dont say its a waste of time to build your own and save a few bux.

everybody keeps comparing this to building a UC

IMO it is nowhere near as hard first off - assembling this rswc would take almost as much time as the build

secondly the markup on this thing is easily 3-4 times the cost - which you really cant say about the UC no matter how hard yiou want to hate on it

I'm with a lot of people here who say they can build a good system for less than the cost of a UC. It's also true that you can build your own car for a lot less than buying one, espcially if you don't mind using junkyard parts.

The point is that how you come to have a good system for growing is less important than using it well!
