Talked to a shop this morning about this very thing. Seems all the shops in the desert located in unincorporated areas were given a 10 day cease and desist notice. No one I know was raided, but they were served notice that they were operating illegally despite the county issued business license.

Big fines, threats of arrest etc... if they dont shut doors.

Once the Prick Patrols are done with Cali they will be off to CO.

Update, Riverside county is using a 2006 zoning ordnance to force the shops shut. Looks like sick people will be back on the streets in no time.

They did so in violation of zoning ordinances, but they did buy business licensees and all that rot.

Basically, its sounds to me that there are strings being pulled behind the scenes telling the counties to enforce the zoning regs they have been ignoring. Someone will be reaping huge profits soon.

The vote to start enforcing zoning in riverside was done after hours and behind closed doors.

see this is what confuses me.... Back in 2006, riverside and san diego county inn-acted a ban on all dispensaries.... As far as i know this ban was never lifted, but in 2010 clubs starting opening back up.

they never did in riverside, not sure bout sd. got a couple buddies that got 20 day notices from code enforcement. they said theyre recieving federal support(scare tactic?) so dont fuck around... as carried away as it was getting in riv co i cant say im supprised

The ban in riverside county was a zoning thing but only in unincorporated* parts of the county.

* county land not belonging inside any city limits

Seattle is the only city in the country i know that has told the feds to suck it! seattle plans to allow coops/collectives....as long as your not running a drug op out the back door! seattle supports MMJ and its patients, hasnt been a prosecution in seattle for MMj in a few years now....!

Cali is going down in flames...........everyone and there grandma is growing in cali........more co-ops than gas stations..... know wonder there shutting it down...........its worse than the wild west....!

and you guys are surprised?????????????????

if you didnt have so many 18yr old wannabe gangsters/wiggers in cali running co-ops...the feds might think differently......instead, theres kids like these claiming to be sick, ruining it for the people who are...!

i just moved away 2 yrs ago from San Clemente.......spent 30+ yrs there......and love/loved it!

cali is just a great place to visit..over taxed, over populated, and to many wigger's...and who would want to visit the SFV...crack head central!!! its not like the OG grows on the sidewalks there! haha!!

sorry....ill deal with a tiny bit of rain and some of the best snowboarding mtns in the country....then droughts, no snow, super crowded everything!

I lived there for a couple years and much prefer to see the sun every other day than no sun for 3 months!

yeah the sun is nice...........i do agree......but this dec....weve got the same amount of rain as death valley.....been beautiful here!!! .03 of an in!

cant argue that!!

i've yet to hear anything about raids; cops may be taking this week off who knows; that or on dui or anti theft patrols at the mall... nothing like more overtime

and because there were only 5 dispensarise on that corner...

i remember hearing oak tree in beaumont was gettin taxed 2k aday and actually paying it for a year or two, only place ive seen 70-80$ eighths this decade, but being the only spot near a casino'd rez would be worth payin for... all these other places getting fined are just letting the fines accumulate and when they get shut down the npo declares bankruptcy. if these guys started paying taxes to the county, not just the state, i bet they would be more receptive

Hey, you Riverside Co peeps know that if you put together an initiative that overturns the ordinance/zoning laws the BoS is using to shut down storefronts and get enough signatures that it can go onto the ballot and actually be voted on by the people, right?

You'll need to be specific in your language, there's a P&P on how the submissions are both worded and submitted, but the county should be able to easily provide you with that information.

Just like those people in Lake Co tried to do by trying to gather enough signatures to force the county to adhere to federal law. But I think that one failed, not enough sigs. Plus, I would have thought that would violate certain statues that are meant to ensure at least a modicum of state sovereignty.
