Whattup

Damn these Larry/Leb are starting out as some super fat stout bastards. I'm trippin' on the fatness of the leaves. I can see that the ChemWreck is going to be a more compact plant. I am going to get these into bloom sooner rather than later just to see what they will look like. It's funny that I keep thinking about my next run even when these guys are just starting (Hortilab's Sour Amnesia is on deck for sure). They are loving the 65ook t5 and Caps Beneficials are keeping them healthy and happy. The first pic is the Larry/Leb and the second is the ChemWreck.

Stoked to see what those Lebanese Larrys are doing!

Hell yeah bro! They look strong. I have five going so we should get to see at least one or two ladies and see what your creation looks like

Hey

Can't wait to bloom a few of these suckers. I have only used t5/cfl to this point but now have a 1k hps setup. I ordered my bloom light from BGHydro but my reflector was on back order and I started to wonder if they had forgot about me, but the situation was quickly remedied after a phone call. I opted to take the 8" version of the blockbuster rather than the 6." They got the back order but said that one was damaged or something so I chose this option instead of waiting another two weeks. More air flow, I guess. I am eager to see the difference the 1k lamp makes compared to using regular t5 for bloom. This should be good.

Yo

Phat phat phat. These Leb Larry's are phat. I keep saying the same thing. These babies are loving the 65k bulbs like crazy. I had read (Ed Rosenthal's book) that the light from hps was sufficient for the whole growing process but this is clearly not true. The nodes are so much closer on the 6500k lights. Anyway these guys are going great. I am about to apply my second serving of Cap's tea tomorrow. I am glad to have learned a little about bennies recently. I have learned a ton recently, actually. How long would you say is the minimum time required to veg a plant? I am so eager to get these guys under the 1k. I am not going to do any LST as height is no longer an issue and I really want to see the natural structure of these plants. I don't want to kick these guys over to bloom so soon that the plant is under developed and blooms poorly. I am think that after the third or fourth week then i can flower away. The only sacrifice would be the overall yield right? Are there any other concerns with short veg times? Ehh, we will find out lol. The other thing is about keeping males. How far do you have to keep your males to avid pollination. For instance, when I cull my males, can they still fertilize my ladies from another room? Do I have to move them outside? or should I just collect and store the pollen? More to learn, more to learn. I figure that if i start hybridizing plants now and keep track of genetic lineage then I will have some dank reproduce-able genetics in, oh, fifteen years or so. I have time. More to come.

These guys are veg'n well. The soil has a darker color after applying beneficial bacteria (Caps Bennies). There is a noticeable difference in plant structure and if you look you will be able to distinguish the larger leafed Larry/Leb from the more compact ChemWreck. They are, for the most part, separated. Check it out.

Whassup,

All is growing well. These plants are looking super healthy. They are leaps and bounds ahead of my last batch. There is not much to report honestly. These seeds hit water 23 days ago. They're rockin' no doubt. I guess I'll let them go for another two weeks and then move 'em. Hope there are some chicks in the bunch. I would like to breed the best male with the best female, without knocking up the whole room. So I could run some (ChemWreck) x (Larry OG x Red Leb) in the future. I can totally see that I will undoubtedly overlook something and end up with a bunch of seeded buds, we shall see. If it happens I will have some beans fo sho. Here is a shot.

Nice work bro you got everybody lookin real healthy. That Larry cross sounds killer. I have some new gear that is at about the same stage. Good luck with your breeding project.

Holy crap what a crazy as last couple of weeks. This grow was inches from death. Me and my chick had to separate for reasons unrelated to this grow log. I thought for sure that this run was cashed but the gods sent luck my way and the move was successful. I learned that ChemWreck is not drought resistant and likes to have it's aqua. The Larry OG x Red Leb crosses did very very well with ten days of no water. Some even showed zero signs of being thirsty. I have my couple picked out for my cross but I hope they turn out to be opposite sexes. I may just let the whole room breed cuz I need beans.

WoW ChemWreck is such a stinky variety. These guys are in veg and have a profound pungent odor. I did some trimming and crushed fan leaves in my hand and the smell is so strong. I may not get to finish this ChemWreck as the smell is so bodacious. My last plants had zero smell in veg. I have resurrected this grow once already so I hope I can deal with the impending dank stank and bring ChemWreck this area.

Today is the second day since the flip and I'm a happy mo fo. This 1k lamp is a light producing monster to say the least. The plants love it and I do to. I had a hard time taking pics as the intense light produces lines on the photos. I had to shoot them through my sun glasses. In this pic the two plants in the very front are my selection to cross. They have not indicated sex so I may have to find a different match but these two are the best of the ChemWreck and the best of the Larry OG x Red Leb. I hope one is male and one female. Anyway things are good and I am so happy I got the 1k instead of something smaller.

I tried naming my new cross Chemwreck and was told it was taken..so I changed it to D-Bomb to honor the breeder BBP..it is Chemdog D x Purple Wreck/Blue Moonshine and was flat out amazing.. used a male from that to create the Wardog strain crossing it to AK47 female.. the same mate tossed me some LLOG and was my first grow.. they were amazing but I can see a little extra vigor added to yours with the extra hybrid mixed in.. very nice growth man.. I'm along for the ride to watch these grow into fat ladies.. best of luck

Thanks for checking the thread D-Bud. Yeah the ChemWreck is not my creation. It is from Conn Gen's stable and the Larry OG x Red Leb cross is Cannarado's work. I am just going to slang some pollen to make ChemLeb. The one thing the Red Lebonese did IMHO is make the Larry OG more drought resistant. Me and my girl split and these guys didn't get shit but light for like 8 to 10 days (under veg lights). The Larry OG x Red Led did very well in the dry spell. I know nada about breeding but I am learning.

Hey Dodge.. I'm kind of a beginner breeder, but hey, long as your having fun and being honest about just what your working with..breeding is something everyone should try.. I think it's pretty cool to grow something you created.
I can tell ya this.. open pollination will get you a thousand seeds off 4 plants.. lol. and ruin a grow as far as yield. So think
about collecting pollen off a male and hand painting like I do only certain buds, then mark them buds with string.. this gives ya about 40 good seeds to work with.. and ya don't lose your crop. Like I did. live and learn right.

Right now I'm working on crossing my Wardog to this wonderful Giesel clone. It's gonna be called "Growler" a nickname
for small Ice burgs.. hehe. like I said, all about having fun right. cheers bro..

Hell yeah bro that painting the pollen on just a few buds is sounds like an intelligent approach. I am gonna use that method. I gotta do a little more research and figure out the technique. "Growler" is a badass name. I like that!!

later dude

Its a really good method. What I do is i take the plant out of the room first. Cover the branch/branches I'm going to pollinate with some plastic bag. Then i mist the whole plant down with water. Water will kill the pollen on contact. I'd normally leave the plant with the pollen on it for 24hr's then i take of the bag and spray that branch with water and back into the flower room. Oh ya and I also label the branch what it was hit with. ~The Doc

I've been doing it for years..usually gives ya a nice little hand full of beans and is a great way to save a strain you maybe forgot to, uhem, clone.. doh. You can even mix a bit of flour into the pollen to make a small amount go further.. then just dip a tiny paint brush into it and paint the buds.. Now collecting the pollen, that's the trick to master. some drop a male into a box right when pollen sacs start to sag, then just empty the box.

later tatot

Labels are a must eh SD.. my memory is so bad I have to.. lol. I too keep the pollinated females apart for 3 days to avoid them spreading loose pollen to others.. then give her a rinse in the shower before putting them back with the others.. yeah, something else I learned the hard way.. cheers

Hey whats up?

Hell yeah!! 5 confirmed females 3 males and 3 unconfirmed. Of the three that are still debatable, odds are two of those will be males, so I'm thinking I will end up with six healthy females. If the natural male to female ratio is 50/50 then anytime you get more females then males luck is on your side. In the next couple of days I will repot the females and pick out my stud. The male that I pick will have to live the rest of his life by the window just barely living long enough to give me some pollen. Then I hope to paint a few buds and have my first cross. Exciting stuff. I say this often and I will say it again: "Growing weed is one of the most rewarding hobbies on Earth." I can see how collecting and creating beans could quickly become a consuming endeavor. It's like baseball cards that you can cross to make new cards. Fuckin badass!! Anyway I'm sartin' to ramble. Here's a pic:
