I prefer fresh fresh trim. :)

Everytime I freeze it I ahve a hard time keeping it from getting wet. When its wet it doesn't work as well with the dry ice.

The dried out trim breaks down faster so there is more plant matter.

i just tryed this my second time and i used a pound of sugar shake. so far iv used bout 3 oz of shake and have about an oz of keif. i used my black 90 micron bubblebag and got about 1/3 of of bomb ass keif and then used my 120 to collect the rest seperatly. i plan on useing 2 pounds dry ice and starting with my 73 micron then switching back to the 90 today. i hope all goes well, btw does anybody know where to get a manual tumbler or a cheap one around 100 bucks or so??

if youre using dry ice, why freeze it? leave it in the bucket with the dry ice for a lil bit first.

ive been having good luck with the 160 micron. seems like a happy medium between quality/quantity and lack of plant matter

I did it recently and was fucking impressed by it. I won't be going back to water extraction or even tumbling ever again.

I also used a 120u bubblebag and shook it into 5 different piles for different grades. My first shake pile (AAA) under the scope looks 99.999% pure - no visible contaminants under 200x scope...

FF

A buddy was describing his process. He shakes the bag slowly across his kitchen table. The stuff at the beginning end of the table is the high grade, the ending end of the table the low grade.

definitely the best way to do it. i get a 10'x5' piece of panda plastic, and use the black side. i shake the fuck out of it at the end, and cook with most of that

sometimes ill give it a shake or two, move down a foot or two, shake it a time or two, so on and so forth. the first few piles are basically pure

That's exactly how he described it. Kind of a puff that comes out. Wait?! Are you him?! Just kidding. ;)

I used just our regular trim and i prefer to break up the ice into chunks, when i'm done shaking the bucket i have nothing left but a fine powder of green trim left

How are you guys packaging the final product? Are you pressing it any? If you press it what are you using?
Keeping it as-is in containers of some sort?
I read that you could wet the final product and press it together that way or is that a bad idea?
My friend is raging about the c02 bubble bag method and I saw his end results but I don't want to deal with the powdered Keif.
I like the concept since my trichome 25u bag hates to drain out and takes me longer to process that bag than all the other bags combined.
Also how well does the older bubble bags hold up to CO2?Do they breakdown any?
Have to order new bags soon anyway so before I do that and buy my waterbags, I'm reading into the dryice method.

If you wet it you will get mold.

If you want to press it, buy a pollen press and add a small amount of heat.

i usually do a batch of bho or qwiso as well, then as whichever solvent is evaporating i slowly stir the kief into it. when its fully evaporated most of the kief is worked into the oil. afterwards i stash it in one of these:

I have a little press and I find it to be annoying more than helpful. I've got to where I just hand press little disks that look very similar to mentos. I put the hash on a little plate that is sitting on a heating pad. This makes it a little warmer and easier and my finger warmth gets it done. I use my little scale so I can keep track and just weight out little 1g disks and thats it.

sure seems like a pita and time consuming to press this stuff. Not something I want to spend a day on.
I've tried one of those aluminium extruders and yea... It was annoying and worked ok for 2 discs.
Don't care for those pocket presses because they seem just as time consuming.
My friend suggested the hand press method and I offered that job to him :p
