I wonder to what extent you can make it better by taking a food based multivitamin with lots of water soluble vitamins.

If you read through the list of constituents of the urine sample, it's pretty clear the donor uses vitamins. Otherwise, the ascorbic acid- for example- wouldn't be nearly so high.

FRESH piss is non-toxic and sterile. If it sits long enough to get cold, I wouldn't recommend a taste...

Yes, urine is acidic; use it on organic soils with a bit of lime in it. Soil will buffer it just fine, I wouldn't recommend it in hydro unless it's 'further processed.'

The idea that peeps get squeamish about plants grown with piss, but cowshit, bat guano, fish emulsion, earthworm castings (poop!), etc, etc are all okay? Come on! This is just the bottom side of the life cycle here- animal wastes are broken down in soil and made available to plants. That's how it works, and if it didn't, we'd all still be neck deep in dinosaur turds!

I been mixing 1/2 my bladder of urine to 2 gallons of water and it's working GREAT!!! It greens up my cannabis and makes the bud have much sweeter flavor than store nutes. That's right, I said it, the urine makes the buds taste good!

I also used it on my pineapple sage plant (not cannabis) and it's bushy and blooming much more after my recent urine treatment.

Be VERY careful with urine, it's easy to overdo it. If you are afraid you used too much flush with a gallon of water.

My favorite mix I invented myself is 70% rotted/composted soil from rotting fallen trees, 10% rabbit shit, and 20% outdoor soil. I put many earthworms in the soil and after the soil has set for a week, I add my urine water to it. I also like to add a bit of Cal/Mag to the water on occasional feedings.

I'm no organic guru but that sounds like a pretty potent mix. You don't get nutrient burn issues with that? If not, I bet the plants do wonders in it!

If the 11-nor-delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol-9-carboxylic acid metabolite of THC is readily absorbed by the plant (it is water soluble)--it COULD (emphasis) theoretically be metabolized to THC precursor and potentially save the plant some energy from the process.

It is unlikely, but certainly plausible.

yep it sure is. I think we have all known this for some time. Uric acid and ammonia are the actual nutritional components for the plants. It will green them right up.

Peace

Just my 2¢ (worth a lot less I'm sure) Some years ago I raised checkered giant rabbits in my garage as a hobby and sold the meat to a local Belgian butcher shop. Rabbits shit a ton. And the main ingredient in rabbit pellets/food is alfalpha I had a rain gutter sytem set up to collect it as the floors of the cages were 1/4" hardware cloth allowing the turds/urine to fall through. I composted the manuer and had the best looking flower beds on the block. The pile of composted turds in the late spring when I turned it over had TONS of night crawlers in it. Any fresh water fishermen (or Belgians for that matter) out there? Commercial night crawler breeders use rabbit poop to grow them.....and those "castings" you see in the store were once alphalpha then rabbit shit then worm poop........ahhhhhh the circle of life!!

think about this you take medication along with your mj smoke mj eat proccessed foods and drink water that has god knows what in then you piss all that onto your plant.

maybe if you were a caveman it would be a good idea but half the shit that we have in our bodies now is nt good for us let alone anything else.

Just to take a slightly different course (that's how I roll it seems according to my daughters) my urine is pH 5.7 so in a pinch I have built in pH down. I also take iron suppliments with a generous dose of vitamin C at the same time, and get B12 shots and Ferreheme twice ayear for anemia...but for iron I just have old steel nails in every pot......and for the record I'd eat a pumpkin pie flavored sewer rat!!! A little saffron rice and broccoli and hollandaise on the side and new Gamay Beaujolais!!! Bon appetit as they say in in Kay Beck, eh!!!

so RB I was going to try it with one of my hydro projects. I'm non skeert. I think I could make this work well. Cap's bennies in my buckets would convert the urea nitrogen to elemental N and the other elements could be adjusted with diet. I eat meat once a week and most of the food I eat is organic so my piss would be low in all unusual compounds but one. I think this thread was a long time coming. Thanks Onespark.

This doesn't really take into account that humans are different from plants. Our energy systems are essentially opposite one another. We need organic sustenance--they tend to need inorganics.

Circle of life as someone said.

Try and avoid believing the myths we were taught. Urine fertilizer is called "Liquid Gold." Human urine properly diluted is excellent for plant growth and it's safe. A diluted solution anywhere from 10:1 to 20:1 (water to urine) is a great fertilizer. I have been using urine for many years in my gardens. Human urine could easily and safely be used in the ag and farming world in large scale operations or just for the backyard grower. It's kind of a shame that we let all that "waste" go to waste. :)

from an article: "Human urine is one of the fastest-acting, most excellent sources of nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium and trace elements for plants, delivered in a form that’s perfect for assimilation. Not only that, we all have a constant, year-round supply of it - and it's free!
Fresh human urine is sterile and so free from bacteria. In fact it is so sterile that it can be drunk when fresh; it’s only when it is older than 24 hours that the urea turns into ammonia, which is what causes the 'wee' smell. At this stage it will be too strong for use on plants, but poured neat on to the compost heap it makes a fabulous compost accelerator/activator, with the extra benefit of adding more nutrients....."

"Patrick Makhosi, a soil scientist with Uganda's Kawanda Agricultural Research Organisation, confirms the efficacy of human urine as a fertiliser. He says that applying urine to growing vegetables once every week for at least two months will more than double the yield."

"In 1975, Dr A. H. Free published his book Urinalysis in Clinical Laboratory Practice, presenting a few of the critical nutrients found in urine, including urea nitrogen, urea, creatinin nitrogen, creatinin, uric acid nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen, amino nitrogen, sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, chloride, inorganic sulphate and inorganic phosphate."
more here: http://www.theecologist.org/green_g...42/urine_the_ultimate_organic_fertiliser.html

from the article: "The nutrients in urine are also in just the right form for plants to drink them up, says Håkan Jönsson, a researcher at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Uppsala who was not involved in the beet study but has researched urine recycling for over 15 years. Food gives us nutrients like nitrogen as parts of complex organic molecules, but our digestive system strips them down into the basic mineral form that plants need—so "we have done half of the job," Jönsson says."

"Many people might cringe at the idea of using urine to fertilize plants, but urine has been used as a cheap, effective fertilizer around the world for thousands of years. Unlike human feces, urine from healthy people is sterile and pathogen-free. A 2007 study from the Department of Environmental Sciences in Finland showed that tomato plants fertilized with human urine produced nearly four times as much fruit
