Looking to relocate to CO around the time the new laws and regulations should be going into effect and looking to set up shop to legally grow. Still debating on location as there isn't much to choose from in my price range. Open to any suggestions and comments about MJ-friendly locations or anything else that would like to be said.
Thanks.

The new law is fully in effect for personal use/grows.

The commercial side...if it is allowed at all...is already locked up by the MMJ folks who get first dibs on the licenses/opportunity. ALL other sales are technically illegal, as are any grows over 3/3.

If yer moving to have the freedom to grow your own in your own home, great. If yer moving to try to cash in.....you will be disappointed...as will many others.

good luck

Its gunna be interesting to see how this plays out.
Will the demand for pot lite from retail satsify most users?
Will LEO jump all over the DUI thing?
Obama said they will not go after personal use. personal grows, seems to me they will not allow the industry side of 64 by his statment.
Medical increased plant count for medibles, combined with 64 how will that work?
So much up to interpation as usual, folks will take advantage and flaunt like fools, seen that before,
again the more things SEEM to change to more the stay the same, it all about the money.
I admit iam in it for some extra $$$ but nothing changes, just keep on having fun doing our little thing here and not get greedy or stupid thinking this is a Bonanza and the end all to everything.
Being diverse in making ends meet is the way to go.

Only the foolish will bank everything on this with no backup income/job/alternatives. There is money to be made but folks still have to break the law to do it.... so this "legality" tag is highly decieving....and I think many folks on the outside lookin in who are talking of moving here are misunderstanding the game and instead of reading the law...they are hearing "legal" and believing it is wide open and they can move here and do as they please...including sell and make it a "job".

LOFL. Canon City is gonna be hoppin in a year or so!!

Is Real Estate Booming in Co. now? o_O...lol

Not in my area. Lots of foreclosures though. Renting is pricey but bare land prices have been steady and still going for about $3000 per acre. House prices are the same and often sit about 2-3 years before they sell. Most of the "new" buyers are rich cocksuckers cashing in on good deals from desperate homeowners trying to save their ass.

Canon City? I think they have four prisons in that little po-dunk town and they just built another one last year. In order to become profitable they need "new tenants."

I have no issues with folks moving here. The more people in one state who are pro-MJ the better for all of us. Some of the the MJ laws in other states scare the fuck out of me and I wonder why more people don;t pack up their shit and move to a MJ friendly state.. What I dislike is people moving here and collecting welfare while growing pot for re-sale. Another bullshit cake and eat scenario.

the DUI thing will 99% be roadside olympics. RARELY will they actually bust out metabolite tests...

got pulled over on the freeway with my lights off, 3 zips on the front seat, BOWL STILL SMOKIN from hitting it. told him up front before he even said anythign about the smell i had weed and was a medical user. cop ran all my shit to make sure i wasnt wanted or whatever, didnt even ask for my red card or any MMJ info, then simply asked if i could step and so he could make sure i could drive. while he was workin me the other cop was searching my car, told him right where the weed and pipe were. when i got done, they gave me my DL back and said have a good night. got back in the car, bowl and herb still there.

turned on my lights and puffed the other half of the greens.

my grandfather was a sheriff in LA for 20 years, then retired in Michigan where he was for 10. he knew/knows what im all about, and the best advice always came from him. be straight up from the start, and that is your best chance.

if you lie, and they find shit, who is going to want to help someone that just lied to them. they look at ya like a scumbag.

dont move somewhere strictly because of weed. pretty sure anywhere in the US has a closet. with such cheap herb thats good here, you'd really need to start a warehouse to have a chance, and the chances of that legally getting allowed right now are slim to none... and slim just left.

grow personal anywhere mang! but i will say colorado is the best state, MMJ aside. has everything, beautiful, affordable, and walk down any street even not downtown, gorgeous women everywhere. there are REAL reasons to live here, a ton of them. not getting hassled for herb is just a sweet bonus.

also, i think its funny how A64 "changed shit." see how people can consider all this ish but at the end of the day a 60$ card for a year pays for that, and some, and comfort.... and im pretty sure you're tax exempt from anything a64 produces???

its a serious no brainer.

grow personal anywhere mang!

Well...kinda. Folks thinking of moving here need to remember/realize that the landlords here...on any/all properties....have the right to prohibited marijuana growing...and even usage on their property. If you are out there reading and you are thinking of moving here to grow you need to buy a place or make sure that growing/smoking/marijuana is OK with the property owner you are thinking about renting from or you'll get yer ass booted out on the street without recourse.

Agreed on the honesty thing w/cops. Grew up with a vice/drug cop across the street from my house and that was the point he always made with us. When we got old enough to drive and get busted in the car...we always told the cops what was goin on/where the bud was/etc...and usually...dropped his name as well. Never had a charge...though we got some serious shit a few times and ALWAYS saw our bag of weed blow in the wind and our beers poured out on the ground. As an adult I've used the honesty thing more than a few times...and while I still got busted a few of those times, I at least didn't "fall down the stairs" while handcuffed and shit as some of my loudmouth friends had happen to them while in custody.... uhuuum

damnnnn.... LOL.

i believe if alcohol is involved it will make it an entirely situation in the eyes of the law, IMO.

But on that note, the housing market is great right now, not amazing, but enough that any schmoe with a 600+ credit and 10-20 down can get a decent house with good rates right now. stretch that bitch out and it'd be cheaper than an apt.

i'd love to see that video of how he musta stepped on his shoe lace at the top... right? LOL

of course i have had my fair share of times in like ID and UT from snowboarding..... heartbraking times.... tossin herb out and not finding it after.

i hit you up yesterday mang!!

I saw that this AM bro. You know how us old folks are with electronics... picked up the phone...saw your text...tried to open it...and dialed you up....prolly too early....LOL. Damn touch screen shit..LOL. I miss the phones with cords and 10 digits. (and the Quaaludes)

Interest rates are crazy low. I remember when I was around yer age they were 14%.... and we freaked when I bought my first house and looked back in the home's history to see that the first owner had a 3.5% interest rate in 1951.....never thinking we'd EVER see that low of rates again. Anyone who can and who doesn't buy now will regret it...cus things WILL swing back the other way again...and rents and everything else will go wayyy up to reflect that rise.

But,,yeah...."Come on Down, kids..... yer the next wave of contestants on the boom/bust cycle that Colorado operates on!" (been here 30+ years...have seen boom/bust/boom/bust already....)

yeah, i just say that cause im in the market to try and buy a place here soon. anywhere evergreen or west to edwards. im open. just looking for good deals, DECENT fixer uppers, not like whole blow outs..... best ive found to my liking was asking 180....

but i've got a good credit score, its just super light. id prefer pages of credit and a 650 over 4-5 lines and a 720.... need to get crackin by next winter thats for sure.

but yeah, i've done financing and all that (property and cars) and i remember when i was little people with bullets over 800 would do a fuckin backflip if they got 7%. shit is good right now... but my situtation could make it better and save me a ton of dough

BTW im usually up by 4-5. im an early bird. always have always will. think the latest ive EVER slept in was like 9:30 ;-)

In 30 years the wife and I have never paid an interest charge or a late fee on a credit card or screwed anyone over financially. We never did a backflip but we've had to tell car dealers "No..we only need ONE"....and we call our own shots/have lots of negoitiating room when we do go to the bank. For us, it's all about how you play the game.... and if you have the money to step up to the table in the first place.

Glad to see you have figured it out at a young age.
