First grow journal.... Ever. That's because I don't really know what I'm doing. Actually I've been lurking for a couple of ..... Years... Trying to learn, watching you guys, realizing I need to learn more about plant botany, plant nutrient needs and a plants life cycle. Put together a batch of subs supersoil and grew some bagseed last year and with that my growing hobby was born. The more I studied organic soil I realized that there is so much more to it than putting together a soil "cake mix" and sticking some seeds in it but I'm still learning. Some day Id like to make my own base soil, compost, and worm farm. But this year I'm using the rev's soil mix in 15 gallon smarties . Feeding neptunes harvest fish and seaweed fertilizer with sea green and rootamentary with every watering. Plants were vegged for two months under an 8 bulb t-5. They are currently about six feet tall including the smart pot.View attachment 324764

Plants have been doing really well. Maybe a little too well. They are all about 7' tall and 6' wide. I'm still giving them neptunes harvest fish fert with sea green and rootamentary every other watering. In between just plain water. I just started applying teas using caps bennies and his tea recipe once a week. My question to you guys is this.... These plants are only in 15 gallon smart pots. I'm using the Rev's soil mix, which is like subcools mix but hotter and with a lot more ammendments. Will the 15 gallon pots sustain the plants through harvest (@ 10 weeks)? Any other organic feeding ideas that would be beneficial to flowering? Also, i have branches coming off the base of the plant. should i cut that shit off?Any output would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I use those bottom branches for cuttings for the following year, or an indoor run if that's my plan.

I am really surprised to see those girls that big in 15gals. IMO, but not experience, you're just going to have to let them stay in those pots because it sure seems a trick to me to get them transplanted into anything bigger, and I don't see the point in cutting up SmartPots to stack them. In fact, I bet that at this point you probably don't even want to move the plants, because in my experience anything that big has got its roots growing through the pot into the soil, I see that every year with my SmartPots, ANY plant.

They look gorgeous, by the way, and not to be wanting for a single thing. That makes me think that what you're doing works just fine and should work right all the way through flowering to harvest. That's what I think.

Thanks you seamaiden, I appreciate the input. Something that is not apparent from the pics is a little yellowing of some bottom leaves. I think it may be from a little neglect from missing a day of watering when it rained, unsure whether the rain was enough. But other than that, I'm happy. Gonna amp up my teas with some high phosphorous Mexican bat guano and top dress with some EWC to carry me through to harvest.

damn dude them some monsters in those 15 gallon smarties. never seen bigger plants in 15's. just thing if you'd used 100's.
they will flower just fine in the 15's, just keep doing what you're doing. you no doubt have a great soil mix and good feed program. great idea about the top dress with the EWC.
u could transplant but you would have to cut the smarties up to get them big girls out and you'd probably stunt them doing it.
Again, great work Masshole61, ain't organic growing great.

Mass, those trees are quite impressive. Did you use any spikes when you planted those girls or did you just use Rev's mix? I have never run ladies that large before using the Rev's mix, but I would think you may need to add a little something before they are finished. I wish I had the area to pull off something like this. Great work and keep the updates coming.

Slap14 thanks for checking in!I didn't use the spikes because they were doing so good I was afraid to eff them up! So for all that read this thread to know my soil mix is called THe Rev's mix , but I copied the recipe that Slap posted in in the "post your organic soil mix" on page 3 Post #41 to a T, and for that I can't thank him enough!
I read the rev's book which details ammendments per gallon which I referenced against Slap's list an it was dead on. So I ran with. I amped up my base soil with 3 bags of roots,30 pound bag of wiggle worm EWC and a big bag of Coast of Maine lobster compost.
Slap, I too am concerned that the 15 gallons of soil won't sustain them, so I feed them pretty heavy with fish and seaweed fertilizer , with sea green and rootamentary , and tea once a week.
Flowering has really kicked in with the alien grenades but I'm surprised the master kush are like 2 weeks behind.. I thought for sure they'd flower first. They still look awesome. I little yellowing on a few lower fan leaves. other than that everything is praying and flowering all over.
Frost kicks in around Oct 14 so I'm hoping to get 10 more weeks out of them.
Any thoughts on how much molasses I should be feeding them in teas and how often? I'm currently brewing 5 gallons with @ 10 tbsp molasses, 5 tsp each caps roots and foliar and just started adding 5 tbsp Mexican bat guano. Applying once a week.
want to keep the girls healthy and happy and hope they reward me with a nice fade.
Again, thanks to slap14 for posting his soil mix. Anyone looking to for a good mix should start right there.
Pics to follow.....
