ran a few of these from seed along with some others and did a little pollen chucking for fun. all are deep chunk except the last pic is a pred pink. the deep chunks all had that hash and grapefruit smell. the pred pink was fuel with a touch of sweetness. cant wait to sample. peace

Those look weird, I've seen plenty of deep chunk and they don't usually grow so nuggy with that little leaf. Looks like a decent amount of sativa in there. Here is some chunk I grew from seeds given to my friend straight from Tom Hill when we visited his place in mendo around 2004. I've wondered if they were special private stash deep chunk seeds because they all turned almost black at harvest. I really need to get more chunk beans, love this strain. See how these look way kushy, and yours look more like hybrids? Where did you get your seeds from?

nice shots fractal. I was expecting plants more like yours when I grew these. it was a small project that I did for fun. it was only under one 600 watt and the plants got pollen early on. don't know if it had any influence. I have seven seeds left that I will might run this winter that might tell me more. I got these from the tom hill spot on attitude this year. some things seemed right like the color and smells but the structure didn't. could just be grower error or guess that's just the seed game. keep on puffing.:cigar:

Funny enough NT, one of the plants smelled like blueberry! Not overpowering, but definitely blueberry muffins and hash. It started me thinking about how DJ short claims blueberry first came from afghani lines. I really should have kept cuts but everything went to hell shortly thereafter it wouldn't have mattered.

I suppose it makes sense, some of the fruity india/pakis genes and all. Anyway my chunk only smelled like hash- at least that statement is accurate :)

Hell yeah break! The Chunk is a true old school PURE afghani bred in mendocino since the early 70's. It got pretty popular around 2004-2006 a lot of people were crossing it with stuff but it kind of faded away. Really, really nice plant although the high is kind of boring I suppose. Potent, but not much head it's all body. The leaves get so thick and leathery you could almost make a belt from them lol! And it's so awesome to watch the colors on this one change until at the end it is black as ink. I really have to get more seeds of this, mine came direct from Tom Hill's personal stash and I am almost hesitant to get more thinking that maybe I got magic beans that were superior to the ones available from the seedbank. I should ask him on the other forum if they are all the same or if he gave my friend special ones. This is a strain that if it disappeared tomorrow would be sorely missed and you never know what's gonna happen, there is NOTHING else like it available on the market. This is the first afghani that arrived in northern california in the 70's and has not been messed with in all that time. Great breeding tool. . . Like I was saying that blueberry smelling one I had could have created years of work trying to carry that trait through and expand on it just like I think DJ short did to make his blueberry.

I wouldn't mind getting me some beans of this. Looks and sounds awesome!
