if your in
promix, feeding straight RO water every other watering will drop your ph and cause lockout...water ith no ions in it can fluctuate ph very easy, and when you add it to a medium like peat that has a natural ph of 3.5-4 or something like that, plus the nutes we use are acidic...your garanteed to have ph drop..if you were in a more ph neutral medium this problem would not be so bad, and if you were in soil i dont think you would have this problem at all...
imo, depending on the PH of your well water, i would flush using the well water, then mix a batch of nutes using well water...get it to a total of 700-800 ppm(1.4-1.6 EC), water till you see a good amount of runoff, this should reset the ph in the meium as well as give adequate food for the plant to rebuild on.
ime
promix is better to be fertilized every watering...i water @ 600-850ppm every watering in pure
promix...i give a plain water about once every 10-14 days just to make sure salt does not build up...and every once in a while depending on strain i still tend to over feed..
edit-to be clear when i do feed, due t my situation i can not water till run off...the only time i water till runoff, is that once every 10-14 days with pure water just to get rid of excess salts that may have built up, its a precaution thing
