Hey guys! I live in gilroy and I put 2 clones out mid may. I used fox farm soil and 7 gallon pots and I have been using floranova grow. But now I notice first sighns of budding? Is it too early? Aren't they suposed to bud at end of July? Should I just let them go or is something wrong? Isn't harvest time at end of October to early October?
I was wondering if there is other people in my area that are experiencing same problem? With early budding? By the way this is my first outdoor grow so I'm just not sure if this is normal or if I'm just tripping? And if there is a problem, what can I do te get my plants to re-veg?

  • ya put them out to early........typically another month or mid June would have been better as closer to Solstice................they may partially flower then start to re-veg then flower again.......can be a clusterfuc or may just finish out....dependent upon variety...............

Yes you put em out too early. June 1 is when you are best off putting clones out in California to avoid early flower. I did so then as usual and I'm having no issues.

Only the first signs of budding now? It's July, and while that's early in relation to most seed starts, it's good in my opinion for clones.

How far along into budding would you say they are? Can you put up some pix? I'd like to know whether or not the plant is throwing odd leaves (reduced number of lobes, specifically).

Looks good to me, I put a clone out June 10 and it's in flower. I have another I put out in April and has grown out but continued to put out small flowers. With plants it's not uncommon to find strange happenings. Your plants look happy and like they'll put out some nice bud. Maybe start them with small increments of bloom nutes but I wouldn't go full blast. They'll be fine with doing nothing more than what you're already doing.

And if I am I'm flower, do I start my bloom nutes?
Yep, but I'd go easy on that. They look pretty good, I don't see them throwing the odd leaves, but do keep an eye out for the triples. If that starts, you know it's revegging and you'll need to light dep it.

check it out what I do is flower mothers that are on a 24 hour veg for a few months of so once I throw them outside they start to bloom in a few weeks for me and make out some nice plants once a plant starts to reveg on me I chuck it I hate dealing with that then u gotta vegg for another couple months to see normal growth again while 50 % of plant still budding lol I hate it If u dont want them to bloom on u I would say put them back inside come sundown and black the t 5 on them for a few more hours each day

I always thought they only show sex when they start to flower? Or am I wrong?
Well... sort of. Technically I suppose you could say that once sex is shown, which is via the flower parts, the plant is flowering. In California a plant that has shown sex is considered, legally, to be a mature plant (remember this when working with clones). However, for most growers, it's not flowering until it's stopped putting out vegetative (leaf) material and is 'focused' on putting out budular material.

Make sense?

So I woke up this morning to this!!! I been noticing that my plants have been clawing at the tips and today I see this. I thought I was over watering to I stoped for 2 days and today I find this. Can anyone chime in on their thoughts. I use floranova at 3tbs every watering. I been using nothing but water for past week to give it a chance to eat up nutes. But now I don't know what I need to do to help her.
My other plants are doing just fine?
