Can anyone suggest or pm me a dr in so cal/oc area that issues recs with specific amounts/plant numbers? The more the better. My current rec that I've renewed for years is very generic and I'd feel better having a stated amount on it since the 6/12 plant thing went out the window.

Legally there is no need for that, and in fact it could serve you worse if you go for a stated amount. The thing you need to be able to do is prove the need for the amount.

Nirvana issues 99 plant recs. I think for $150 Its in downtown or hollywood area. 4511 w sunset

I got a question my friend knows a guy in nor cal who states you can grow 99 in counties that have lower limits as long as you get that rec of 99 from the doc, is this the truth? And these canopy square feet restrictions are a bitch are they enforcing that shit? Basically what he's saying is where we're going Butte county 99 is a small grow and he knows dudes in every direction growing several hundred in everywhere.
Me and my best friend are not two 19 year olds moving to Cali to get rich with 2 grand were both late 30's with about 20 years combined experience and have family's and a substantial amount of cash saved over the years I know everyone moves to Cali and doesn't know shit and thinks growing is putting a seed in the ground and then collect thousands of dollars lol it's the hardest job I've ever done but at the same time I see the weed and oil getting shipped to here from Cali and it blows I wouldn't even smoke half the shit I see and the prices are ridiculous.

No, it's not the truth. Learn the laws, including local. EG, my own county has set limits, now that include indoor cultivation. HOWEVER! The codes they're using are zoning codes, which means I'm subject to building inspectors and being spanked by the court, not to police or arrest. Fresno..? You'd better watch out. Nevada Co, IIRC, has set their limits within the structure of the criminal code and so people have been arrested for being out of compliance (again, IIRC, it's been a while since I've had my nose in that area).

Maiden how could you prove the needed amount? I could grow a hundred 2 pounders and I don't see a way I could prove that me and my wife need 200lb a year maybe if I ran it all in oil and then cooked it and just flew my spaceship around all day lol

Is freno in butte county? Regardless I see the potential for getting arrested I'm just wondering how heavily things are enforced if your flying low on the radar but where i am now is terrifying they just gave a dude 3 years for 13

Prove to whom? The police/DA or your doctor? I've had lots of conversations with my own doctor and attorney over this issue and it's actually fairly simple, especially once you start making medibles, oils and the like. For example, I've started making oil, and it takes easily about a quarter pound of product to make 20g of oil. Knowing that, my doc has made notes according in my private file, which should I ever have legal issue/need, as part of our agreement he will use to help in my defense 24/7.

Also, as far as what's written on my recommendation, my own doc's made it in agreement with what my attorney wants--no mention of numbers on the actual recommendation itself, it just says that he recommends cannabis for my conditions. What we've discussed privately can only come up with a subpoena. This is specific to my own personal need. If I were growing for others a la coop, collective or dispensary scenario (which is the ONLY reason anyone's legally growing 99 plants, which is an insane number of plants to handle by yourself if you've got much in the way of physical issues IMO), then they have to prove their own need, you need prove you're acting in compliance with the law.

The main thing you've really got to remember, and a consultation with a good attorney will keep this in the front of your head, is that ALL of this is an issue only when you go to court. Avoid going to court and you avoid having to prove anything.

Got a link?

No, Fresno is not in Butte Co, but the points are the same given as examples.
The points are these:
Know the laws, both state and local.
Consult your OWN attorney, don't rely on what some guy for who won't be there with bail for you has to say.
If you're really going to push the envelope, have bail on hand (count on $10K).
Get an attorney on retainer (I recommend someone local who's familiar with the courts and players).
Use a GOOD doctor, not just some rec-writing fiend pot doctor.
Know that all of these local ordinances and codes can be, will be and often are changed at practically a moment's notice (in relation to a growing season), so it's smart to stay on top of all of that stuff.
13yrs for a plant. Even if for any other drug, I'm over it.

99 is the limitor for legally pressing the issue, ostensibly.

Ive got about 13 plants going for personal use and as a caregiver for two others with real medical issues. A small simple indoor grow, All very well documented. And I still keep a lawyer on retainer in case leo bothers me. Its just wise imo. Ive seen firsthand the bullshit cases corrupt cops and shitty DA's push past overwhelmed judges, resulting in innocent people getting screwed. Be prepared at all levels when dealing with the powers that be.

Great post,
I have more than enough saved for land 20 or so acres lawyer and bail plus structure and living and growing fees, my ailment is mentally depression anxiety recovering prescription opioid addiction and migraines so I have no physical limitations due to illness. 99 is a ton of work no doubt and in 200 to 400 gal smarties its a shit load of cash for soil and amendments got a 1000 gal brewer too but when there in your back yard and your not walking 7 gals of water in each hand at 3 a.m. To 50 of them stopping every 100 yards looking through a forward looking infraed scope it's sounding like a walk in the park (I'm speaking figuratively :). Also looking now for a good lawyer should I be looking for one close to where I'm going to live or is a state attorney good for each area? I want the best not some jerk off doing consultations for 100 bucks.
Flying out in 11 days to meet some heads and look at a couple plots. Thanks for all the good info.

The way I understood it;
the 99 number was from the DEA--
who at one time said they didn't mess with less than 100 plants...
Yea that's the jist of it I think anything under 100 the Feds usually don't prosecute however that's not set in stone and those barbarians can do what the fuck they want.

I would go with a local, 100%. Lots of very good attorneys do free initial consultations, and in fact I've never paid for an initial consult.

So, I don't know how drought stressed Butte Co is, but my county is very drought stressed. To that end, I've been trying and comparing differing methods of growing. Right now, my plan is to rip out and get rid of each and every Smart Pot or equivalent I have--they go through several times more water than a simple raised bed (the deeper the better and I laid down logs on the bottom to act as water reservoirs, which further aids resistance to drought stress). The difference between my raised bed ladies, especially during extended periods of heat and dry, and my SP ladies, is astounding. I have also been experimenting with cover crops to further prevent soil moisture losses.

What`s the big deal with Butte Co.? The land use laws allow me 99 plants with 66 in flower for my 10 acres and although I`ve had the Butte County Sherriff`s and State Fish & Game over several times none of them even asked for my recommendation or wanted to look at my garden at all! They seemed only interested in poachers and trouble makers in the area. I haven`t seen a chopper in the air in two years now as well. Here`s my garden and it`s 1001 ft. from a public road.

Mark,
What u just typed is the big deal with butte and your the guy who originally turned me on to it plus my best friends buddy from there recommended it for numbers and good growing conditions. The damn regulations change in Cali so fast it's ridiculous me growing there will not saturate anything I know that for sure and I spend my money in the community I live ie. charity donations, so i feel i benefit a local area not just use it for my own gain. I play with my kids and work all day basically mind my own business however growing is what I have to do to be happy and looking at a 10 year sentence just isn't an option.

Yea the drought there this year has to be killing everyone. Plants underground is what I know lol but the smarties just grow so damn huge whats the difference in the quality of plant using the two methods you mentioned how much better are the big smarties doing than the beds partially underground?
