First of all, thanks for taking the time to read this and for any advice. \m/
The usable ID for the entire Garage is basically 14w x 18d x 9h (feet).
The current idea is to subdivide it into multiple light-tight areas, using basic framing and black/white plastic:
* a 6x12 Veg room.
* two 6x12 Flower rooms.
* and a 2x18 corridor for access, storage, and an enclosed area at one end for Curing.
The plan for the 6x12 Veg room is to have three 2x4 trays along each side with a 2' walkway down the middle (six 2x4 trays total), with a 2x4 8bulb T5 above each tray (six fixtures total).
The plan for each of the two 6x12 Flower rooms is to also have three 2x4 trays along each side with a 2' walkway down the middle, with each 2x4 tray (six total, per Flower room) having it's own 600w or 1000w hood (six hoods total, per each Flower room).
The idea, then, is to work with batches of 24 plants in 12x12 square white buckets (8 buckets per 2x4 tray/fixture in Veg, and 4 buckets per tray/hood in Flower), and harvest one batch of 24 plants/buckets every 5wks (more or less).
So a batch of 24 would fill up one side of the Veg Room, and about 5wks later a second batch would fill up the other half of the Veg room, and on and on and on.
Then as they mature, move a batch of 24 to one of the Flower rooms (twice as much space / half as many plants vs the Veg room). Then the next batch to the second Flower room 5wks later. And refilling the Veg room with new batches of 24 each month, and so on, where there are always four batches in process at a given time.
To control current draw and temps, the two Flower rooms (each Flower room with six hoods) will run opposing 12/12 schedules.
The Veg room will run a 16/6 schedule.
And, for what it's worth, the grow is being done using Coco Coir, Canna A and B and some other bits, and manual watering, and the clones are coming from elsewhere... This process starts each Batch (every 5wks) with 24 healthy clones with good roots in Solo cups that are ready for immediate transplant into the 12x12 square white buckets.
Ignore strain specific time frames for Veg and Flower, for the time being, and assume an average schedule of 10wks for Veg and 10wks for Flower, overlapping, thus harvesting a batch of 24 every 5wks.
All that said, before getting into any other details or aspects:
Any serious design flaws with the plan?
Any clearly better way to use the same amount of space and gear (or even better - less gear) to still produce a batch every 5wks, where the goal is to average 6+ pounds per batch?
(We're almost doing this now, though in a different space, with a slightly different setup, and are averaging 5-7 pounds per 24 plant harvest/batch now, but I would like to both duplicate what we are doing now, and squeeze it into a 18x14 garage, and further standardize the perpetual aspects, if possible.
And this attempt at a more compact and more perpetual setup is a bit new.
Thanks.
