Side note, ideally you would want to strip opposing branches to keep symmetry to your plants nute/light uptake even on the same plant, keep growing,Peace.

I try to do all my thinning in veg but sometimes I have to go back through stuff in flower.if its done in the first few weeks its ok but the sooner the better ime or yields can suffer and really late pruning can cause herms on marginal genetics. I just try to take bottom branches that would end up as larf because I just dont need extra larf.i also try to take out crossing branches so most the stems are growing vertically and able to stack nice and hold more weight.those crossing branches create more shaded areas and are the first to flop over when buds start to form.but for my setup the lower 1 foot gets pruned off and I only pull fans that are not healthy looking. I tried thinning fans and realized it only lowers my yields so I stopped a long time ago.but I also stake my plants right away in flower to open up the canopy and it makes spotting those crossing branches pretty easy. Try I few ways, like do some lightly and a few heavy, maybe do one where you strip some fan leaves and see which ones grow best in your setup.those pics above are really extreme and I would not recommend doing that .gl
