Several people mentioned it but it bears repeating. BIG HOLES for big plants. Look for good good native soil. Chances are that old soy bean field sitting fallow down the road, just ain't going to cut it ;). The sides of an irrigation ditch in a fallow field is great though. Clearings on edges of woods are usually pretty good spots too. Swamps are great, a LOT of work at the beginning but if you can get a nice mound built up, it's all gravy after that. The side of a river/stream or pond might sound good but all it takes is a kayak or canoe paddling by and it's over. Even some random person hiking or fishing.

Plant 3 patches with this in mind.
1 for thieves
1 for cops
1 for you
Sounds fucked up but............Maybe you'll get lucky, maybe not.

Good Luck

Oh and always go "in" a different way. You might think you're not making a trail but you are. Especially to somebody that's keen to these types things.

Plant no more than 5 plants per plot.
Anything over 5 is mandatory minimum of 2 years less a day!!
Know your laws thats the tip !!

Turned a friend onto it last year and he had big time elk issues.
Only problem he has anymore is with the elk trampling them. He said they won't eat them Since spraying with neptunes.

I never tried fish emulsions, makes sense though.
I use to put jars of piss around the outside edges
It seemed to make a difference
I collect my dog fur after brushing and scatter around patch as well. If you put the fur around base of plant it will take care of some slugs too. They get all tangled in the fur and die mother fucker die......sorry I hate those little bastards lol

I suppose it could be drowning a little ?
most of the time yellowing is due to over watering.
He mentioned a big storm ?
Has it been very wet weather there ?

It's rained everyday for the last 5 days, survived the 2 tornadoes close by and is going to rain a little bit every day for the next week.
