I thought I would post this to help fellow farmers save some money.

10ML White Vinegar per gallon of water.

I bought a gallon at Walmart for about $5 and lasts a long time. It works the same as drip clean. I just mix it in and flush my plants to clear salt buildup. I do this often and have notice better nute uptake compared to not using drip clean or WV.

what pH does that come out to?
Whatever PH you want it to. I dont PH it because I just flush it with plain PH water at 5.5-5.8 in Coco, after I'm done using the WV drip clean. I forgot to mention that.

explain? I'm still trying to figure out how drip clean works lol

It gets rid of salt buildup in the Coco coir. Helps keep your plants from getting locked up and helps the plants uptake nutes easier.

vinegar is akin to pH down. I'd never pour it at that concentration or any concentration as it kills micro life. But if it improves your grow, use it!

I add bennies every time I feed my plants, so it doesn't hurt.

Your right Texas Kid. Different chemicals, works the same.

It works for Coco, I'm not sure about soil.

According to the H&G reps, it works because of the charge of the ions in the product.

distilled vinigar is like .5% acatic acid and YOUR TALKING ABOUT REPLACING THAT WITH PATASSIOM OXIDE AND PHOSPHERIC ACID.

the only thing good for vingar is changing the PH for a little while. I LEARNED THIS STUFF AT LIKE AGE 6 NO JOKE

YOU have got it totally wrong those chemicals are key to what drip clean does drip clean has ACID's in it and POTASSIUM OXIDE .

your just going to make an anirobic MESS . drip clean is used to break down build up and to prevent it.

never use anything besides agave and mollassus from foood stores for growing THATS A BIG RULE and the salt well you get that from the PHARMACY SO THATS WHY ITS LEGIT TO USE

PLEASE LEARN YOUR ELEMENTRY / KINDERGARDEN CHEMISTRY BEFORE YOU ACTUALLY START GIVING OUT ADVICE THAT COULD RUIN SOMEONES PLANTS OR SOMEONES MONEY OR LIFE OR YOU COULD BE GIVING BAD ADVICE THAT RUINS SOMEONES HARVEST THAT HAS CANCER AND YOU FUCK UP THE HARVEST FOR THAT PERSON SO THE PERSON DIES INSTEAD OF BEING STRONG ENOUGH TO FIGHT THE CANCER . WAKE UP BEFORE YOU TYPE DONT BE A HALF BAKED IDEA AND WITHOUT DOING SOME RESEARCH THIS IS WHAT THC FARMER IS FOR LEGIT INFORMATION again ITS FOR LEGIT INFORMATION

potassium is a very strong element so is phospherous i would lock thread this is over vingar never an option to replace drip clean. they are nothing alike

this stuff is used to strip away NUTRIENT BUILD UP SOMETIMES YOU NEED STUFF TO DISSOLVE THAT CRAP AND THAT TAKES STRONG SHIT .

sorry to say vingar would actually make you need drip clean more ....................and dripl clean is a special formula and you cant grow plants with it if they havent from seed or clone been using drip clean BECAUSE IT CHANGES HOW FAST NUTRIENTS COME IN AND OUT OF THE PLANT AND MEDIUM........so read a book.

actually just delete this thread entirely people dont need to waste their time to read how someone doesnt know their chemistry and needs a reality check as i am doing so yes please delete or lock the thread

I've used drip clean intermittently in the past with no ill effects. Phosphoric acid is the main ingredient in Mad Farmer's pH Down, among others. It is only dangerous if used inappropriately.

Yes, it does take an understanding of chemistry to do this well. It has taken my understanding of chemistry well beyond grade school ;-)

All of these drop pH- it's part of how they work in the first place.

I just created an account to mention this user must be talking about him/herself.

Anyone else using acetic acid in place of HG drip clean?

House and Garden Drip Clean worked fine for me in a Blumat system, 1ml per gallon. I switched to coco/perlite hempy buckets and use it at 0.5ml per gallon (label dose is 0.4ml per gallon but I'm lazy).

Anyway, a DIY Drip Clean would be to buy a bag of PeKacid and dissolve in water. I've only seen PeKacid in biggish quantities so I'm willing to pay for the H&G product.

From the ICL ferts site: "PeKacid™ is an acidic PK fertilizer for fertigation with formula 0-60-20 (60% P2O5 and 20% K2O). Pekacid is a crystalline product, nitrogen free as well as sodium and chlorine free.

PeKacid™ is intended for soil-less as well as open-field horticulture fertigation applications, and is well-suited for use in blends of fully-soluble fertilizers as a tool for incorporating calcium, magnesium and micronutrients into the mixed fertilizers. Due to its acidic nature, PeKacid has an anticlogging action and enhances nutrients’ uptake."

From Drip Clean MSDS: "Cleaning agent guaranteed analysis
Available Phosphate (P205) 24,0%; Soluble Potash (K20) 8%.
Derived from:
Phosphoric acid anhydride, Potassium oxide."

It's a nice try there. Pek acid at the end of this post is a great read. Figured I'd mention, if you skip the drip clean you'll notice a P deficiency bad in veg. Sub it with raw's P. It balances the N and K great! Healthy health guy's. Happy growing!
