Hello Fellow Farmers! My summer grow is always an adventure. I built an inexcesssable 2nd floor terrace. I watched and helped a close friend do the work after designing the terrace. Pests are easier to manage on an above dirt level platform. The Durban is on ground level, in a raised bed, 25 gal container and getting Bt spray weekly as a preventive measure. I use light neem during veg. The area around terrace start and end clean with application of Garden Safe "pyrethin" on railing, around plants, up stem at base early in flower, and only night hunter spiders venture in on occasion and eat "pests" I have seen very few this year. On the lower right, notice a darker,

shorter, bushier pheno of XJ-13. Scope shows Amber tricks and if you accidentally grasp with more than two fingers, get the soap. This plant resins are sticky as a fresh fly strip to touch. Smell is potent pine sol, lemons, live skunk, spices. seems ready but water and a week never hurt. Watching tricks and yellowing leaves. They ate last meal yesterday, but may get a molasses, Rhino skin, and final flush, then Water only. So. Cal heat is great for growing this year but it is time for automation as these girls can drink two gals daily. . .source an eight of Organic Xj-13 greenhouse grown and advertised as having seeds.

Since a child staring through pages of high times I always wanted to smoke Durban poison but it's been the ever elusive strain way down here on the map .... Now that I'm growing things for myself I might look into getting some beans

420 kid, have you grown sativas? I am growing to test for a friend. My fellow farmer got these from London in 1988. Durban is a landrace strain, she has not been hybridized as much as an Og Kush or train wreck has and delivers some unique flavor like anise, cherry. These in picture are Xj-13's, G-13 X Jack Herer. I will post a picture of Ms Durbantree tomorrow. Peace out

@Burned Haze, the tall Jack Herer pheno's smell like tropical fruit, just checked, yes pineapple with other fruity smells. The G-13 short bushy front right and center are a lifesaver scent of various citris and berrys. The G-13 pheno shows amber head trics. I will post a close-up. atom 420, that is a good growing strain. I grow indoors perperual in a 4x4x6.5 with a 400 and 600 and take advantage of our ca summers. thanks for the comments, my next question is re the G13 pheno, is it done?

Fellow THC Farmers,
Thanks for following the outdoor grow. I just checked the Herer pheno, pure pineapple and piney citris, pest monitor sticky. Close, guess 5 days

The JH XJ-13 is not crossed to passaround, two distinct mother and father phenos, no Og, TR, BD, GDP, although the idea of Blue XJ-13, BD X JH X G-13 and breed to mother Blue Dream clone. Choose traits of BD clones strong enough to dive into the gene pool with G-13 and Jack Herer.
These below look like daddy G-13.

A G-13 cola, stickiest yet, gloves and 91% iso, smells like a pineapple and skunkymy guess, it tests about 19-21 percent

Dry weights. XJ-13. G-13 Dom. 46 grams. This's is my outdoor Durban Poison.
Jack Herer Dom was 92 grams. All 138 g are in the jar, smell stronger every daily burping. This monster Durban Poison has a month. Giving her 15 ml/gallon of CannaBloom Bud, two tbsp of molasses and rhino skin daily. Guessing mid October but I follow the tricks under scope, first sign of Amber or all donut cloudy are my harvest cues. Thanks for following the grow. One clone of the DP is now seed mother to a Kandy kush x Jesus Og cross I names Sweet Jesus Og. The sweet Og flavored and Durban may be a good mix. If so, the selection begins.

Junk,

I take advantage of So Cal summers but have a perpetual indoor tent flowering and a nursery. The challenge outdoors, caterpillars and crawlers. I spray Bt as preventative. What part of our world do you grow in? Thanks God(literally) for summertime sun. The uv rays help as does altitude, only 1250 here.pic of Xj -13 dry and Durban Poison as of now. . .looks about three weeks to a month away. Saliva is a challenging plant, 3 months of flower are a long time relatively for other issues to pop up. Thanks for following. Questions are encouraged.Image

I'm in New England. All indoor. Too many close neighbors. I'd love to have land to grow some of these redwood sized Sativas I see posted here a lot.

I see, an efficient indoor and charcoal filters are a must? Living in Coloardo and cultivation would be cool. This is a monster due to genetics. It is a pure unbred Sativa(95-99) pure.mA key is long veg and room for roots. This is a 25 gallon, I am unsure. Room for roots is vital. I am on a second story terrace and less bugs in general. The bugs I do see fly up, moths, or hunter spiders that come out at night. Cats are the threat. Peace hope all is well.

In soil the size of the plant will depend on the size of the pot. Less so in hydro. You could grow the same size plant, in a smaller "pot" with hydro. But you have the right idea for soil. Big plants = big pots. I saw someone the other day (if i recall correctly) using 100 gallons pots. I wouldn't want to have to do the "pick up" test with those lol.

Yes, charcoal filters & good fans. But you get good ones, & you only catch a slight whiff of it every now & then. I get plenty of outdoor growing out of my system with veggies. I prefer these indoors...but space is a massive limitation.

Junk,

I can't even lift this when wet. It may be a 40. Today she gets pruned lightly and sprayed with Bt and three drops of soap. Usually I am big on defoliation but usually indoors. Last years summer Chemdog was a monster. Looking at the main cola I saw a large red and orange caterpillar heading into the largest bud what a drag. I did get rid of them but lost about a z of buds. This year am being preventive. . . Thanks to everyone for following. I have developed a CannaGrowSystem with everything excepte lights, tent or space, and fertilizers, and growing with the system components helps me know if I need to add. The CannaKit,s base is 6 containers, contains stakes, trellis, ph testers, mason jars, hygrometers, trim and manicure scissors, scope, gram scale, ties, small bottle of Bt and neem, education and a notebook tracking system included. No selling on the farmer, understand. I will share this, . I make my own compost soilless mix and let the sun cook it. . . Reuse very fertile soilless mix of percent perlite, organic potting soil(no food except organics)' bone meal, guano, sphagnum moss, and lime rocks. I put back into large container after harvest. The roots break down to aerate soil well. I add new product as needed. Peace. Mark

If you type @StrainMaker or @Junk it will make the alerts so that more people are more likely to look at them.

Unless you are trying to keep people's alerts down.
