Do not water every day, those roots are probly going anerobic and starting to rot, probly why everything is growing so slowly. The dirt must dry out between waterings, this is probably one the hardest things to get for people when they start growing. You just need to let the plant do the work, more plants have been killed by constant "tending" and "care" because at this stage the plant dosent need much other than plain water, a bit of light, and proper moisture content in the soil. I dont mess with feeding until a couple weeks, but constant water is definetly the issue

and i wouldnt try to seperate them, their proabably either wrapped together, or the roots have rotted and if you stress that plant any more it will probly not make it. Let the soil dry out, do not water a little bit every day, and you should see results, big possibility it will take a long time to bounce back though, how long have you been watering daily?

They dont look bad, i would stick with regular waterings, but only when the pot become dry, lets the roots get some oxygen. I would think it should definetly pick up with the HPS as well, some strains are notorously slow veggers. Purple varieties often take a while, but are very tasty, and people love em so i think its worth it, some plants grow like crazy, and you wish theyd stop reaching. Just keep it up, your gonna murder some plants, but youl be happy you kept it up when your smoking your own weed

When i grew in buckets i littered mine with holes up the sides all around up and down. Shit was tight. Considering switching back to lowes pots

I have about 2" of stone at the bottom, there aren't holes in the bucket, I probably should put holes in it though shouldn't I?

I was reading about higher temps in veg during dark cycle stopping the stretch under hps. Supposed to give tighter nodes. Iv not tried this. Have you heard of this or tried it?
Heres a link so you can research various techniques to limit stretch and tighter nodes. One of the most common steps is the control the diff between daytime and lights off temps.

Answer is yes. Without drainage holes you will drown or rot your rootz

12-18" as a rule depending of course on your head space in the groom

Yes holes are neccesary, I bet theres water just sitting in the stones right now. You solved the problem though! Drainage is why your plant is slow, oxygen is just as important to roots as water, without it they die. Just drill 20 or 30 little holes all over the bottome, or 7-10 large ones 1/2 inch in diameter. I would do some research on basic gardening, not just cannabis, I dont think anyone bothered to ask about drainage , becasue we figured that wasnt a question, research research and do more research

I transplanted one of the plants into a 1G bucket, with rocks and drainage. I need to add drainage to the 5G bucket, I have noticed crazy growth with the CFL, almost double in size over the past five days!

Things seem to be going well I believe, I have noticed still more growth, and I got the watering under control I believe. I think I'm starting to notice sex, but I think it still may be to early. Any other good pointers my fellow growers?
