So the electric is done and lights are hung. Time for some cable management! :D

Hey Redwood thanks for stopping by! I'm getting the rest of the wiring done and then it's off to the races.

The contractor is coming back for one last push to get the rest of the wiring complete.

Still waiting on the DO probe from Agrowtek, but I went ahead and bought a hand held one. I really hope to get some answers regarding DO in RDWC with this and the installed probe. Don it isn't a Hanna, but it does have a replaceable membrane and electrode. :D

Well another week passes and another contractor is no call no show.

All I want to do is turn on the lights and get this show on the road! I wish I could do the electrical myself. :crying2:

Wiring the Agrowtek relays (dry contacts) to the high voltage relays, the control wiring from the controller to the relays, the low voltage wiring from the sensors to the controller, and the wiring from the relays to the fixtures.

After that there's a bunch of testing and minor things that I can handle.

Let's try this again. New contractor coming over today or tomorrow. Third time is a charm!

So the controller is connected to the network! It took awhile to get it connected, but I can now connect remotely and see everything! I tried the relays last night and couldn't get them to work, so need to trouble shoot them today. I still expect to get the lights going and relay control to all of the other devices (dehumidifier, humidifiers, O2 Grow, fans, scrubber, and supplemental lights) done today. It finally feels like real progress! Who knows, in another week or so I might finally be operational! Still tons of testing, light burn in, environmental testing, etc..., but there's light at the end of the tunnel! I'll post up pics once I get some this testing out of the way.

It's really cool to see this, high tech, well funded, contracted out. Opposite end of the spectrum from me. I've spent years building, upgrading & implementing and finally feel like I've got a fairly high-tech, dialed setup. Got my 2nd fully sealed flower room online today with perfectly sized transplants. Couple days of veg to make sure they aren't stressed/stalling and they'll be ready for flip.

Can't wait to see how those lights of yours work out.

A local grow op has been using 16 Greenbeams and claimed 10 day shorter cycle with them. They love them so much that they are putting in 120 of them rather than Gavitas. I'm gonna try to get in to see that op! I'm thinking that these lights are game changers. Just my opinion. We'll see soon enough.

You might find this interesting...

Acta Hortic. 1996 Dec;440:199-204.

Water uptake and growth of cucumber plants (Cucumis sativus L.) under control of dissolved O2 concentration in hydroponics.

Yoshida S1, Kitano M, Eguchi H.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11541572/

Water uptake rate was drastically increased by lighting to the plant at each [O2], and water uptake per day was depressed in proportion to decrease in [O2]. In the plants grown for 10 days, leaf area, fresh weight and dry weight of leaves decreased at lower [O2], while stem length and number of leaves were scarcely affected. These facts suggest that membrane permeability of root cells reduces at lower [O2] through respiration-dependent processes, and growth is inhibited through leaf turgor loss caused by the depressed water uptake of roots in O2-deficient nutrient solution in hydroponics.

Albeit not tomatoes or cannabis.

All relays working and lights are burning in! It is so bright in that room that it is dangerous in there without good sunglasses! I'm hard plumbing the return lines for the UC and painting the room with Lumacept UVC Max. I'm skipping the Orca as the Lumacept is diffuse reflective and reflects UV, something that Orca doesn't do. I have to cver the walls with something more reflective or I'll lose about 30% PPFD.
