Hi there. My mame is Amanda and I'm
currently in the middle of my first of my first grow. I think I'm doing alright despite running into what seems like every problem possible. My boyfriend uses hps lights and has his grow down to a science. I still make fun of him and bust his balls because I hate the electric bill and think he's bad for the environment. I quit my job and decided to experiment with led lights and basically do the opposite of everything my boyfriend does just because he's stuck in his ways and I want to be able to beat him at his own game lol. I currently have 6 300 watt Mars hydro dimmable led grow lights in a basement with 13 cannabis plants with a fan and a dehumidifier. I was using 7 gallon pots but last night, I invested in some 10 gallon air pots because my pots weren't draining and my plants were showing signs of root rot. So I'm using the 2 part emerald harvest nutrients in soil with air pots and led lights. I would definitely like to hear from others that are using led lights and what they are doing differently compared to hps grows.

Show some pics........
How far above the canopy are they?
I've seen some good grows with the COBB LED lighting.

Hey, how in the hell did you get such fine nutes but shitty lights?

A quick search would reveal lots of disgruntled owners, who were/are basically screwed by mars

Far from an LED hater, they're all I have used for ~ 4 years now, but the key is using white based...

I started using EH Cali Bloom 2 Part a week ago and am blown away

I actually really like my lights. i use them for red light therapy as well as grow lights. If you google red light therapy, you'll see all the benefits it can provide. I was using the red light therapy total body enhancement machine at my gym until I realized that my led grow lights had the same red light and now I just strip down while watering and pruning my plants and I swear my complexion is the best it's ever been and I'm getting compliments on a daily basis

Well, at least they won't go to waste, make a closet out of them and stand inside

How would you know if you're happy unless you compared them to real led grow lights?

My problem with the led lights is that my pot don't dry out. I can't stick to a feeding schedule really because it takes well over a week for a gallon of water with nutes to dry out. You definitely can't stick to the same feeding schedule that you would with using hps lights

For someone who's suppose to have some best lights on the market and growing some rally shitty plants, that was a pretty bold statement

My plants practically grew through my ceiling within 2 weeks of putting them into flower. I had to toe them down. This is week 3 in flower after heavy defoliation. I had a powder mildew and had to spray a couple times so I'm sure that screwed with the growth

And that's what real LED lights do?

For fucks sake, you would be better off growing lettuce and giving advice. If I was the maker of those lights I'd charge you a fee for dropping a bad name on my product!

Ouch lol. Some people just really don't like led lights lol.... I'd have to agree though, the picture didn't seem like much to brag about.

Some buds look pretty good.... This ones a good one I guess. im looking forward to my 2nd grow so I can make some changes. I already switched 8 out of 13 plants to air pots and for 25 bucks a pot, I'm really hoping I see some good growth and hoping my pots dry out so I can feed them, then water them like 4 days later.

The first pic is entering 3rd week of bloom

The second was a close up of one bud. Pics taken from the top look much fatter

Maybe these harvested pics will change your tune

The cell phone pic was ~ 30" below the light, against the side wall

Put your dicks away there's a lady present:D hahaha. I have used led ufos like when it first came out 600$ a pop then I used them again recently for 90$ and plan on buying a solar storm next I'm not a fan of the bill my hps brings me but in regards to making the best out of your leds I did side by side comparisons and the spaces that I added reptile lights in did dramatically better in regards to resin production, potency, and smell. The uvb produced by reptile lamps bumps up the potency a noticeable difference. Hopefully you can rub your boyfriends nose in it literally lol

Oh and I don't grow in soil but when I switched to airpots on my flood table there a big difference too. Way healthier monster root systems and it should help with your problem

I swear you've posted this picture like, 50 times on the forum. Putting these shitty nugs on blast is doing NOTHING to convince people to grow under LED - I wouldn't even run those nugs that's straight rabbit food.

@GirlsCanGro2 you're going to have a tough time managing the plants under the MARS lights, next round invest in another, more reputable (I.E. expensive) LED manufacturer or switch to 315 cmh which are also an efficient draw. As far as your root rot goes, stop overwatering. Getting a larger pot was also a bad idea - that's just going to exasperate the overwatering problem (even if its an airpot). You need a smaller pot or a more aerated medium so that water isn't sitting around forever - adding 3 more gallons of soil isn't going to help.

good luck - hopefully they get some weight.

and if this nug is at week 3 flower - then I'm pretty sure your crop is seeded out.
