i read that is possible to make cannabutter from your trim after harvest, does the trim/leaves need to be dried or do they still need to have a bit of life to them? Wanting to try this out soon.

Trim should be dry, not dry as heck, but dry. 2 sticks of unsalted butter to 1 ounce of trim.

I want to just put this out there. Not sure about chlorophyll and taste.... I found this text on the subject from the internet.

Chlorophyll is any of several closely related green pigments found in cyanobacteria and the chloroplasts of algae and plants. Its name is derived from the Greek words χλωρός, chloros and φύλλον, phyllon. Chlorophyll is essential in photosynthesis, allowing plants to absorb energy from light. Chlorophyll absorbs light most strongly in the blue portion of the electromagnetic spectrum, followed by the red portion. Conversely, it is a poor absorber of green and near-green portions of the spectrum, which it reflects, producing the green color of chlorophyll-containing tissues. Chlorophyll molecules are specifically arranged in and around photosystems that are embedded in the thylakoid membranes of chloroplasts. Two types of chlorophyll exist in the photosystems of green plants: chlorophyll a and b. Chlorophyll was first isolated and named by Joseph Bienaimé Caventou and Pierre Joseph Pelletier in 1817.

Clorophyll does two things.

1. Turns the butter green.
2. Gives a bitter taste to your edibles.

I say bubble hash or Dry sift and make your butter with trichomes.

WAAAAAAY better product.

I prefer to keep it out, which is why I use ghee instead of raw butter. Using kif instead of green plant material is another way to do so.

I try to not waste any of sweet Mary's goodness either.

I have a gifted harvest box has a drawer in it. I've built any number of dry sieve contrivances, including a harvest box. With mine you simply lift out the tray and the kif is underneath on the mirror. Dirty peeeecture attached:

Here are some other dry sieve resources:

Ghee is clarified butter.
Clarified butter is milk fat rendered from butter to separate the milk solids and water from the butterfat. Typically, it is produced by melting butter and allowing the components to separate by density. The water evaporates, some solids float to the surface and are skimmed off, and the remainder of the milk solids sink to the bottom and are left behind when the butter fat is poured off. I can honestly say that I personally have no need to do all the extra decarb or clarify, I just do it like chef Ra. I am a carpenter, only bought one box 15 years ago, since then ive just made em myself also. I made one that was 3 feet long and two foot wide for two trimmers. Love your keif man.
