I'll have to do some calculations and get back to you. I have a tent that is quite bushy currently. Might try to count them tomorrow and see. But it's a good question :D 3x3 doesn't really count as I lost bendy.

I'll get us started with the result of my 1st grow. 1 top per sq ft

I never really counted per square feet just the squares in the net.Figured how many colas i wanted spaced out in every other square and secondary nodes in between.Hard to work it all out like you really want to but i think i topped around the 10th so i got 40 main colas and a few other ones in between.Had to trim up the fan leaves a few times but no big deal.I counted them all the other night and in a 38x56 inch closet scrog i have about 60 good tops in there.I got 2 plants taking up alot of space and a 600 watt HPS in DWC

Now heres some autos i topped and scrogged at 46 days in DWC that just went retarded.Got 2 colas in the same holes in some spots.Had some drama today so had to pull the net and move em but they are crazy.this is a 45x60 inch area

Here is my clone of the beast (#2).
She has 40 tops I could count but I'm sure I missed a few lol.

She lives in a 4 cu ft chamber with 4 sq ft of space 2'x2'x1' .

So 40 cola's ÷ 4 sq ft= 10 cola's per sq ft.
There is the before pictures in the quote ^^

Well this beast clone reached the end and here were her last pictures before harvest

So that is what 40 tops in 4 cubic feet look like growing in a 5 gallon pot.

She yielded 2.64oz

My main representation of stuffing multiple cola's into a small space. I did some defoliation of the core right b4 these pics today.

She is growing in a 2x2x5 chamber.
4 sq ft/20 cu ft. And she has 56 cola's.
The 3 accent plants have a few tops growing in but I'm counting them as single cola each. Add those 3 accent plants you got 59 cola's total.

So 59 cola's ÷ 4 sq ft= 14.75 cola's per sq ft. She is gonna be a huge yielder. She is in her 3rd week of flower.

I had to tie her together with string so her branches don't break during the chop.

She was quite the lady.
Yielded 6.11oz

I grow bushes at different stages so my garden doesn't really apply unless we use cubic feet of colas. I try to bud them top to bottom to maximize wattage and space while staying within Michigan guidelines.

But I have stumbled on a way to maximize the colas the way you show @rmoltis wothout all that work training.

I cut a clone on a plant that had been flowering 7 or 8 weeks. She took 2 months to reveg and more to root properly. But here she is. She is about 1 foot cubed. She ended up being 3.5 oz of dried buds and a nice jar of close trim and loose or small nugs.

I didn't count the colas. Sorry. ;-)

She was/is quite the lady.
What is the trimming technique? I recently harvested and I scrogged and trimmed throughout but it looks nothing like. Too leafy, buds not that size at all either.

My main thread is in my signature.
I have all my grows logged in it.
I just wrapped up grow 4 which included that big beotch.

You have any questions I have it all documented with pictures and info.
It was an over 4.5 month grow from seed to the end of the 77 day flowering period.

Training was a long arduous process.
And it took a lot of work. Veg time was the biggest factor.

Basically I just combined all training techniques into a freestyle sort of training. Each lady is unique. It's too hard to get them to grow identically.

I basically watch the plant grow.
And as she grows in I direct her growth where I imagine it.

I am currently working on creating a new beast for round 5. If your interested in seeing how it's done you are always welcome to watch it happen.

I shoot for 10 cola's per sqf in my 2x2x5 tent with a 400watt hps cool tube,
I usually pull 250g out of this space depending on what/how I'm growing

3plants in 11 litre of coco/perlite, 1x white widow in the back & 2x sour d in the front.
Week 7 from seed
Week 2 day 1 of 12/12

first grow ... in a 3x3 ..7gal..550 w leds
GHP nutes .. last pic is a week later ..

love this thread

Came across this old thread. Lovely plants all.

In terms of ideal colas per space, it depends on what kind of environment you can achieve/afford. The more colas the more heat, humidity, risk of mould. But if you can manage it you can get a lot out of a square foot.

I run 14,4 colas per sq foot.
9 plants in a 5x5 @ 1000W - 1.7g/watt
72 colas , 23.6g/cola
340g/sq foot

Awesome grow!

4 per sq/ft is ideal I believe. That's how I used to roll when i did SOG. 50 x 1 gallon pots per 4x4 lol.

But yeah I like to have a 6" area for a top to grow in minimum.

5x5 is 25 sq foot, how you get 340g/sq foot?
