https://www.sunlightsupply.com/tools/btu-calculator
figured out 11x13x 8
With 4x 600w
4 digital ballasts
And i added 50L dehumidifier for good Measure
I would need 23500btu

I looked at split ac but i got quoted 3500 bucks

Portables arent efficient

So window a/c is my only option right?
25000-29000 btu is approx 1300 to 1700 canadian dollars.

Can anyone tell me where to look?

Amazon.ca frigidaire 25000 btu
Approx 1200$

Wayfair artic king 25000 btu 1339 $

Airconditionercanada.com frigidair 29000 btu about 1300 $
Is thaat too much btu for my room?
Mainly looking for free shipping and brand advice. Or better deals.

Hi my friend. It looks like you may have 2 windows there. Or if your window does not face a Main Street you can even use wood and stack 2 on top. My point being why not save a lil money and go with 2 15k btu units. Free shipping on amazon. 2 will get you 30kbtu of cooling for about 900$. And your cool air can be coming from 2 parts of the room which will probably cool more efficient since your fan doesn't have to blow all the way across the room to cool the other side. But that is just a guess. It will def be cheaper and you will get more btu. Or save a lil more and go with two 12k units for 24k btu. Let us know what u decide. Good luck mate.

Thanks for the reply but alas, i only have one window. And it faces the street/resturaunt down the rd. So stacking 2 air conditioners might look a little obvious. I just spoke to Airconditionercanada.com and 25k btu wis about 1095 plus 90 shipping.
. Its looking tempting . Also 2 air conditioners would be safer incase of one failing.

Running 4 600's you could get away with less than 23,000 btu. Only takes me around 3,000 btu per 600 to cool mine with open reflectors. And 5,000 btu's to cool my room running a Gavita DE.

On another note that large an A/C is going to require a dedicated 30 amp circuit and be a fairly large unit sticking out your window, which wherever you are located in Canada could lead to suspicion.

Im very rural its ok. And im looking at 4 ballasts And in the future pumps for hydro and a dehumidifier i live by a lake and its very humid here most of the time. Also im getting a heatpump put in the main part of the house so il have an electrician here anyways. I have two light controllers that need 30 amp breakers too and im putting a connection for a generator in the panal jist incase i lose power

Heat pump in Canada?? That's not very efficient bro. Heat pumps work by reversing flow of refrigerate. In very cold temps like below 30 degrees. They don't do much. Your basically heating with strip heat. I don't know ur situation but I'm just sayin

There ar efficient heat pumps now and i know people around here that love them. Its great for. Ac and its not bad for heat. Its definitly cheaper then electric baseboard all the time. il jist use them for supplimental heat. Next year i might look for a boiler i have alot of free wood so it only make sense. But Mainly i wamt the split for ac it gets too humid and hot here in summer

Are you talking about geo thermal heat pumps? I'm just having a hard time wrapping my head around a regular heat pump in Canada with your super cold winters.

Also, ur gonna need a low ambient kit for ur a.c. not sure if that's some something u can get for a window unit. I paid about 1500 for my 2 1/2 ton ac setup. All i did was get a goodman air handler and condensor for residential use had a buddy whos an hvac guy charge it for me

Why not use a master controller? It's only 200 more than the "bot" thing, and can control co2 (fuzzy logic), temp, rh, ext. My master controller I can set day/night temps with a deadband.
