Im a somewhat experienced grower but I've never had this before. And this is the second time I've ever used coco. So I'm a total newb on coco obviously.
The first time was my last run in this room and I got over 13 pounds out of it. The last run I planted my clones into coco from promix in the cups. This time I came straight from my power cloner into the coco. They vegged under floros for a week then under HPS turned down to 600 for the last 3 days. Now they are transplanted into 2 gallons.
It's looking as though I have a mag/iron deficiency. I'm using floranova and my ppm is at 400. RO water. And ph is at 6.5. I did notice slight symptoms of this on my last run. But they pulled out of it.
I have about 25 gallons in my rez tank and I just added about 1.5 mil a gallon of cal mag and gave them a little watering of it..
Is this comon in coco.? Seems like I hear about mag deficiency at a young stage alot.. any advice would be appreciated. I'm doing the same nute program I have been doing for years with awesome results. Only thing changed is using coco.

coco ph should be 5.8-6.2 and i never use less than 150ppm calmag in my ro water with coco, typically 350ppm is si and calmag until mid flower when i reduce ca in favor of mg and s, halving the calmag and using the 150ppm on epsom. you likely just need to adjust your ph.

Why ph so high? I like to keep ph in coco in the 5.7-6.1 range. First feed in new coco I'll go calmag full strength and a complete nute for about 1000 ppm 2.0ec which is the strongest feed they'll ever get. From my understanding new coco is a nearly empty bank that grabs nutrients ,preferring some minerals over others( cal, mag, iron) , until the bank is full before it'll give up nutes to your plants so to ensure there's some left over for your plants feed strong from the start. It helps to really flood them through. First feed I'll put in 1k and it'll come out the bottom like 600ppm. Coming straight from a cloner tho the high ppm might give them some trouble. I go into beer cups of promix then to 5 gal coco.

These guys nailed it. First things first get that ph fixed. Coco is considered hydro just like rock wool and many others. Ph 5.8. They may be in shock for a few days but once the ph gets in check I am sure you will be right on track. Here is a chart I've seen all over the farm.

Thank you guys. This has all helped a ton.!! I came out of cups of promix as well my last run and all was fine. My last run I got over 13 pounds and that's with not adding a drop of cal mag. So I'm amazed even pull that off. I just went and adjusted my pH too 5.8 and added a little more mag so that will be about 3 mils per gallon of Cali Magic.. I'm pretty sure since going straight from cloner to coco with 300ppm nutes. then after a week going to 450ppm has had an effect. And cause a deficiency. I really appreciate the help guys.. I stress my ass off on this stuff. I never hardly ever have problems.. indoors and coco and RO are a while new beast.

I only add the calmag in the first few weeks after transing into new coco and taper it off. My base nute has adequate amounts, just that new coco steals it

don't be, shes not a needy plant. i should add that i feed for a broad spectrum of strains and not all plants have the same hunger, especially for macros ime. however, I've also found that in general mj loves ca and mg a lot and that 300ppm is middle to higher levels of both of those. 50/60ppm is just the dose for 1tsp protekt/armor si. also, quickly for you Cali magic is what i use and half tsp/gallon is 150ppm, 1tsp is 300ppm in 0ppm water.

This explains why my last run was fine. Because I used soil in cups for a week before they went into coco. So now I'm all about the cal mag with cuts out of the cloner..

As i am learning this. Especially with RO water.
I have used Amor si before but that was with GH three part schedule. I tried it with floranova and just one mil a gallon smoked my plants into a horrible leaf curl and canoeing every time I tried it. I don't wanna go near Amor si. When I'm using Nova.

sounds strange to me. its only potassium silicate. perhaps it was precipitating out or something. i find i have to use silica or netting my girls is ridiculous though. i use protekt/armorsi because I'm running down an old stock i got a while ago, else i would just use agsil16, though protekt and armorsi are fine products and basically the same.

I was using the Amor si from GH. I used it for years. I switched to floranova, and it took me months to figure it out when I finally cut that out my plants were back to greatness. Then I just wanted to make sure. So I added just 1 mil a gallon and it fucked them up.. this makes me scratch my head still because my mother down the road uses it and has no problems. This is outdoors greenhouse in promix. I also used to use cal mag and when I switched to Nova I got a really bad calcium overdose. I still ended up having a huge Harvest, but my leaves were screwed with spots and curl and deficiencies. I now don't use cal mag at all outdoors. It's just strange man I know. I still can't figure it at all. I miss Amor.! I keep it simple in my feedings too. I'm not a overkill guy. So I don't know.
