Pruning is an advanced technique.
If you do noting, bottom veg (in the dark) will not produce good bud.
Veg left in the dark for too long will die on its own.
I like to think that every bit of a pruned popcorn lower bud will be re-allocated into building a bigger upper bid.
So the sooner it is pruned, the less primary productivity gets wasted.
But as I say, it's an advanced technique.
Be mindful and deliberate, and hopefully learn where the sweet spot is.
