New To Growing

Hello all,

I have been snooping on this forum for some time now trying to gather up as much info as I can, and after finally finishing reading a thread about autoflowers which went on for 3 years.
I thought I would sign up.

I've been a smoker for some years now and Ive always loved the idea of growing it myself.
after wearing down my better half to let me do it (were in the uk)
I've took the plunge and currently 3-4 weeks in with a closet grow of 2x haze fem'ed autoflower seeds.

and loving every minute of it.

hoping for a little help with a few issues I currently have, if any of you kind folk wish to help?

Thanks guys.
I have a couple of auto Fem’ed haze in a closet grow, about 4 weeks in and both of there bottom leaves are starting to brown up and die.
Any suggestions if not then maybe you could point me in the right place?

Ok thanks.
Here is a few pics of the bad leaves. Also if my grow closet.
And i got some bio buzz Nutes but haven’t used them yet as the plant was healthy with just water.
Any ideas what’s going wrong?

Looks like nute splash to me. Some of your feed solution got splashed on the leaves, nothing to worry about. I would just clip those leaves and carry on. Good looking plants. Welcome to the farm.

Hi Enforcer.

I have come to realise my ph is way out at 8 for the soil.
Which I’m guessing is causing the issue.
So gonna mix up some water with vinigar to try and bring it back down.
But you are also right. Some of the bottom leaves did get a few splashes.

A soil ph of 8 is high. But most of your plant looks great. How did you determine your soil ph?

I have a pronge thing in my soil and it says 8.
My tap water is about 7.5.

I’ve been told I need to flush with ph water.

To get my tap water down I was informed I can just add vinigar to lower it.
Apperantly I need to lower it by the same amount that my soil is over.

So I’m guessing I need to drop it down to about 4.5pH

Does this seem right to you?

I wouldn't worry about the soil ph. Others may differ but your plants look ok to me. You might just mess those plants up if you start monkeying around with ph. If you were doing hydro you would be in trouble but you're not. If you do decide to try to lower it do it gradually. I used to squeeze a grapefruit (I have a grapefruit tree that is always loaded) into a two gallon watering can every now and then because I felt that slight variations in ph help with nutrient uptake, but if you listen to most organic guys, they'll tell you to just leave it alone.

Yes, that will work. However, those probe meters are not the most accurate. A slurry test would be better. But like I said, your plants look great. Just a few leaves affected leads me to believe it's not something as wide spread as ph. You can adjust water ph to nudge the soil one way or the other. Or you could just add a little garden Gypsom the top of the soil and scratch in.
