Not sure if this is the right place but here goes. I started seeds inside (First seeds ever) I am sure my light was not close enough. They are pretty tall after 1 1/2 weeks. When I transplant can I plant them a little deeper to shorten them up ? Anything else I need to do ?
Thanks for any help
They will be outdoor plants

You can bury them a bit, but when I have tried it, the growth slowed down, falling behind the others.
I prefer supporting the long stem in whatever manner available...pipe cleaner, twig, etc.
Once the light is corrected and the plant starts to grow the long stem thickens and basically disappears as the plant grows.

If you are not going to bury them which is the prefered method for me by the way, you should supply a gentle breeze around the stems which would give them a little shake to strengthen the stems. But only if they are able to stand on their own.

Put them in deeper containers and burry at least half of that stem. You can put soil or whatever medium you're using almost up up to the first round leaves (cotyledons).

I used to bury when i had a weaker veg light (they would stretch), and it always worked fine. I’d do about half way like toaster79 said.
