I grabbed these 2 shop lights from my job, they were going to toss them out so I took em home.
They're both about 4 ft in length. Smaller tubes are 32w
Bigger tubers are 40w
Both lighting spectrum is 4100k
Has anyone grown with lights like these or similar & what were the results , also would these as a pair be good for small plants/clones or new babies the total wattage would be about 144w

Perfect for seedlings and veg stage. I’ve tried both flourescent and led bulbs, prefer the cool white flourescent. Keep them close, couple inches, very little heat.
Agree. Baby plants like fluorescents and hard to burn em with em too. You can just about have them touching a t5 without burning. 4100 k is a pretty centered spectrum. You can flower with 3000k bulbs but I’d get something better to flower.

So the 4100k wouldn't be so good ? & I was asking in regards of vegging because I have a 1000w led that puts out a lot of light and I'll be using that to flower. I know Home Depot/Lowe's they sell a 6000k tubes should I go for those instead ?

If I could get a fixture to place both lights , should I use both for the smaller plants or one should be sufficient. It would be similar to this but both light would be directed toward the plants from front and rear

I fit six plants under a 48” light, with tin foil on the sides but there are better reflective materials. Some clones:

I currently have 5 babies in my grow room , they're about 14 days old already working on the 3rd set of leaves, should I move them under the cfl until they're bigger. They're way smaller than the ones in your solo cups

Thats the fun part, figuring out which is best

I think I'll put the small ones under the cfl and I'm gunna germinate 2 seeds today. I'll keep one under the light and one in the room and see which one comes up faster
