I mixed up a batch of soil and have a good amount left over.Is there a proper way to store soil mix?

Also, I am getting ready to chop and I have the drying cabinet finished and was wondering if it's ok to poke a piece of coathanger through the stems to hang inside the cabinet.

One more question, every morning I check the girls and always one strand of spider web is going across the plants.Think it's ok to hit them with low pressure air from an air compressor to blow any bugs off the plants before chop?
Thanks for any input for this first grow of mine.

1.I use trash cans with lids. Mix first with a little water then load. When you use it then mix it again. Mixing aerates it.
2.Hang cola upside down. Hook it off a bud on the hanger or string. Make sure its on there good.
3.Hopefully its just spiders not spider mites... Blow or suck works good, but be gentle.:winking0067::icon_animal26:If its spider mites then take care of the problem aggressively after harvest.

I store mine in containers. Its a bitch to move around though. If its a real long term storage then I would re add some mycorrhizae. Im moving into my new place and im dreading how im going to get 25-30 gallons of organic soil up to the top floor. Even though its just one container.

beautifull plant. which strain is this? and i would store any unused soil. in a new clear zip bag. or a growbag. and it will be fine. just keep it out of the damp. i recently stacked up a friends garage with 45 bags of 50ltr coco. for my next run. (i still feel tyerd) :smiley_joint:

Unknown strains from Mason Jar of seeds

Trash can!
Didn't think of that.Funny how the obvious doesn't come to my brain sometimes.

I chopped two this morning and found a small spider web in one.I used a bamboo skewr to remove and compressed air to blow the plants off.
Poking a hole didn't work because the stem split so it got hung with string.
Now inside the cabinet I have the purple plant in its planter and will leave it there for another day and a half then chop and hang.
These friggin' bugs really bum my out.I hope and think the web was from a spider and not spider mites.

Redroot says to store dry, and Archaicatoms says to add a little water before storage??????????
Looked up Mycorrhizae and am confused about that product.

redog. im intrested in these seeds. do you know where they all came from? did you keep this one. looks special.

and depends what soil you are useing, but i think best too keep it dry.and you can always add water.
with water the soil could grow mold spores inside and ruin the lot.

This jar of seeds has been kept for years.I'd imagine some of them are from the 70's.
Over the past few years i've been fortunate enough to score some great herb from three or four different people.
Who knows.I'm really impressed with the purple job (see my gallery)
I had this brainstorm about an easter egg hunt where I go and hide some of my clones and then tell people through Craigslist ad where to locate them. That way i'm sure the strain will stay alive and spread throughout the eastcoast. Overgrow the country.I like the idea.
Theres an article in the news how American growers are putting a hurtin' on the Mexican drug cartels.Like that too.

What kind of soil mix?

No matter how you store it you should be able to 'bring it back to life' later on down the line... I wouldn't worry too much... Trash can sounds like a good idea, I've used large storage bins...

re:M Eaton

Someone here said they were surprised that this stuff grew in Miracle Grow Potting Soil because of too much N I think it was?
Thats what these plants were grown in.
I even tried the MG Organic but it always had these pesky little gnat fuckers in the soil so I'm going to avoid that crap from now on.
Anyhow,I mixed a bag of that plus a bag of top soil and a bag of perlite.
Don't really understand the ratios everybody talks about on here.Wish someone would say, yeah, mix a bag of this plus a half of that etc. . . .
I have some worm castings and some greensand and even have some lime somewhere but not sure how to mix it properly.
So sue me for being lazy/dumb.

Plus I didn't want to mix some potent stuff and have to wait a month to use it.A friend grows his Cali Mist in MG so being the lazy ass that I am, thats what I used.
Next year I might try to make a batch of super soil.

Just keep the soil moist(use the squeeze test) not wet. Make sure no more than a couple drops of water can be squeezed out of the soil using your hand.:rasta2:
