idk what to get for lights I’m going to be growing 4 plants i want to get a qp to a lb on each plant i grow outside i just know nothing about lights

Growing indoors I’m thinking 4x4x6 tent if that means 4 wide 4 ft from back to front 6ft tall i need a good light for 4 plants idk if i should go MH/HPS or all these new LEDs

Ahh another fellow Canadian (guessing by doing only 4 plants lol) Whats your budget ? What do you have for heat ? Ac or just exhausting your air? And how are you with diy ? 600-1000w if you were going hid which is the cheapest option and simple plug and play (I'd go 1000w digital ballast if that route cause they have dimmers I believe you can set 600w/750w/1000w as needed ) or you could go with 2x 315w or 1 630w CMH which are getting great results (crazy results actually there is threads here with pics of people pulling 12-16oz with a single 315) ...LED wise you can buy a premade cob or quatum board but that's your most expensive upfront cost but will have cost savings on the electricity usage and lastly cheapest upfront and operating cost would be a diy cob or quantum board

I am Canadian (but in USA) haha got family in Nova Scotia but budget wise i want to run like 150$ A month in electricity maybe less diy i have my friend that can help me i just know how to grow haha how much budget for grow 2,500

I’d choose a tent with more height, by the time you add plants and hangars for the lights, you’ll regret not having more space up top. Without a space outside of the house, then it’ll require some means of removing the odors, that’s a exhaust fan and charcoal air filer/scrubber, (more cost).
I’m solidly in with the cob setups, good ratio of light to heat production, that also means less or no A/C needed dependent on the time of year you grow.

Good advice there ..honestly if you are looking for just quick and easy I'd give the 630w cmh a go don't think you will regret it ...you are going to need to figure out your ventilation though such as where you are pulling air in and where you are exhausting your hot air out.

I prefer cobs or qbs relocate tbe drivers for less heat inside your tent. A good estimate is 25w per foot sq for veg and twice that for flower. Diy would be the way to go. Lots of information out there. Do you already have the tent? Why four plants?

i know all about how to keep my air ventilating I’ve helped build set ups before i just want a good already set light i guess unless diy the way to go i don’t mind dropping money on a set up i don’t have a tent and my parents only want me to grow 4

Ah I see ever think of 2 - 2x4x6.5 tents. One for veg and one for flower. 2 plants per tent perpetual grow? Veg does not need as much light (cheaper) flower smaller area cheaper flowering light. Plus harvest every 2.5 months.

If it was me id go 6x6 so you have some working space ...sucks trying to work in a jam packed tent and go 2x 315w cmh or 1x 630 cmh
