Just wondering if someone could help me. I think im at the end of week 4 flower not to sure. I've been using canna a+b 40ml canna rhizo 5ml and canna boost 30ml two times a week. Is there anything else I can use to bulk up my buds? Was thinking of using sugar and honey. Should I buy some bat guano? Or is it to late. would appreciate all the advice people. I would like to achieve sticky potent buds that have great bag appeal however everytime I harvest my buds they loose there smell and I cure for two months and still unable to achieve that sticky potent product I'm after

I have a 300 cfl I can use or I have another 600 hps which may help? "but my humidity at the minute is around 70 and I'm gunna buy a dehumidifier. I've just ordered some molasses but found out you should only use this in soil

The sugar/molasses is beneficial to the living soil method of growing, but unless you are using this process, it won't help. As was mentioned, a LOT of light is essential for getting big buds... you need a lot of energy to let them swell up, which they usually do at the last few weeks of flowering. If you want thick, sticky buds, you have to provide the proper genetics as well as the proper conditions. A Sativa plant will give you longer and less dense buds, while Indica strains tend to have the round, hard nuggets that everyone seems to desire.
If it was up to me... I would buy a 600w MH conversion bulb, so that you could veg under MH's superior spectrum, and swap it out for a 600w HPS during flowering, which you already have by the looks of it. I use Promix and 5-6 gallon buckets, but whatever works best for you.... use it. The Rh is a little high, but it shouldn't really affect things too much. Lastly, find some strains that are well known for having the qualities you like...gooey, smelly, nuggets... it's all out there anymore. It used to be that you grew whatever you could get, but times have changed. You seem to be doing OK currently, it is just going to take some upgrades and the other very important ingredient. It is free but worth more than a site's worth of info... and that is patience! Newer growers can't wait for their crops to come in... who could? I "allow" myself to pick one smaller bud a little early, just to keep from driving myself crazy with anticipation. Keep up the good work... keep us in the loop!

It looks like the only help you need is smokin' those buds! Looking good.

Your grow looks great, trimmed with care. The products you mention feed the soil for organic grows. (except for the bat guano which does both. They take too much time for you now. I'd let them clear out at this point, use up whats left of what they've already absorbed and get a chance to clear out some of the mineral tastes fertilizers can leave behind. I stopped feeding last year three weeks before harvest, flush 10 days to 2 weeks prior and wash all cuttings at harvest in a 35gal. can with Hydrogen Peroxide infused water, hung to dry outdoors till wash water evaporates then moved inside where it is hung for a few days till ready to cut and cure. The wash water showed me how much crap was in there, dirt, bugs, additive residues and smog. Smoked much cleaner and easier on the throat.

At flower to increase density, lower the humidity to about 40%.
And yes bat guano is very helpful if in soil, can be used in coco but more frequent feeding maybe required
Carbs like molasses not sugar is beneficial to the soil bacteria/ microbes that feed at the root zone, they explode and subsequently feed the rhizo sphere the root zone. Plants actually slow up the uptake at flower so carbs with organic bat guano does help force feed the plant.
But man they do look well cared for.
And yes more light does mean denser flowers typically. But I think you are ok on that area. Sometimes plant genetics also dictates the outcome. Either way you gonna have some fine flowers. At week 5 1/4 dose of veg nuts helps carry dative strains longer. And I’d leave fan leaves in as long as possible only defoliating prior to flush and harvest. Leaves feed the buds.

Thankyou Jimster for all the advice I have taken all this on board. I think next time I'm not going to top as I think I topped to much and that's why the buds are small? Is there any strains you could recommend. I've already got some lemon gorilla and blue cheese in veg. Here's a picture of the girls what do you think? I started flushing 3 days ago but decided to give them some more boost and mollases

Cheers Jack I'm glad you like them I've topped them a few times and like to defoilate at around week 2 flower but I've used this method a few times now and it's worked for me however I've noticed when you top you loose at on yeild so I think on my next one I'm gonna only top once any strains you could recommend

I personally enjoy Sativas and hybrids, I also enjoy a few nuggets as well, although I don't have a lot of experience with many of todays strains. Train Wreck has always been strong and chunky, Black Diesel was pretty chunky as well. Grandaddy Purple is a popular and well yielding strain that is pretty easy to grow and changes colors if grown in colder temps. Your plants look pretty good, topping is a process that is different for every grower. I usually pinch them once, maybe twice (pinch is the term used years back, as you "pinched" the new growing main stem, which causes it to split in half, making two stems. I think this is the same as topping, which shouldn't be confused with defoliation. Defoliation is simply removing leaves...some folks remove a lot, some just a few. I remove any that is blocking light from reaching deeper into the plant, encouraging new growth. You seem to be doing OK, the more leaves that are left on, the faster and bigger the buds grow, but leaving too many on can make them smaller, since they can block light from reaching the growing buds. It's a balancing act, like the rest of growing. As long as you have strong light and good genetics (parent plants), you can get your hard nuggets. It's a learning process, but you are doing pretty well so far... I think you are ready. You might need to prop the Indica's up as the buds tend to get pretty heavy, and you don't want your new big buds to get all twisty from falling over, do you? :)

I agree I find sativas easier so you think there ready? I'm gonna give them another two weeks in flush then as I used some boost to feed them today. Yeh practice makes perfect

They look pretty close to ready to me, although that is also a matter of preference. I prefer to let mine finish fully. I feel that the flavor really develops as the plant is running out of stored energy. I usually look for the buds getting a little pointy and growing odd leaves as a sign that they are ready. Your's looks to be pretty close, but another week won't hurt. There is a common belief that plants that are grown too long will lose potency as THC turns t0 CBD. This is true, but the percentage that changes is much, much smaller than the normal THC/CBD variations between identical strains... so while it IS true on paper, in reality, you would never notice it. I like them to be tasty and hefty...they feel greasy when they are ready, so get ready!! :)

Yeah there not far off now mate just letting them put on some weight. I was going to take them out today and let them sit in the dark for a few days with some ice as I heard this helps thc production but tbh mate I need to flush them lol I think once I've gave them a good week or 2 flushing I will be alright. I gave them a little bit of boost like a dohnut but tbh I weren't happy with the overall results mate. They were on the lim side this time. But it's my first time using a tent so.. I will deffo only top once as well because I think it effects overall yeild. Too many stems with popcorn buds. I've done a lot better before but the quality is a lot better this time. And AS WELL I find if you harvest when sticky and at most potent it comes out better but I need to let them go a bit longer to put on weight. And yeh I know I think when the trichomes start turning dark I think they loose thc mate because they loose there smell as well I think I've had this happen I few times 😆

Here is an example of I think thc degrading this is a cutting I was given which was meant to be lemon but it doesn't have no smell which concerns me because I'm doing an extra ten of those bad boys for someone as well as my own. I prefer seeds because then I know what I'm working with
