Flipping to flower should i continue veg nutes during strech period

First time grower, getting ready to flip to flower. I've read some continue veg nutes for a week after flipping since the plant will stretch and there won't quite be flowers yet.

Is this a good idea? Or should I just go straight to flower nutes after flipping the lights?

Yes ... Personally I don't switch to bloom nutes at all but rather taper the feed down at the end. But if you plan to switch to bloom nutes I would wait until week 3 of flower.

Really? come on you guys, again things I thought I had covered you flip the switch on me again. I've seen vids from (so called) pros and they up some of the bloom nutes a week before turning them to tell the plants to get ready its time to flower. The directions on the label say to increase 1st week of flower, Now you guys ( that I respect the opinion of ) say no bloom nutes till week 3? ooops to late this grow lol week 2 and I've fed them twice + the frowned upon Kool Bloom twice ( as the label directs ). I've always done it this way because I'm not smart enough to argue with the recommended doses other than to use about half of what's posted on the label.

So some of those pros you are talking about have everything dialed in and yes there may be a small benefit to say slight increase in phosphorus the week before and week of flip. Then some increase in potassium for weeks 3-6 (this is all rough info). We are talking about splitting hairs in grows under full environmental controls and likely CO2 with small benefits. You can't translate that into the home grower that doesn't have all aspects of the grow working in peak performance where that's only when your going to see a difference.

Now there is a big difference between bloom nutes and bloom nutes ratios. Bloom nute ratios are extremely exaggerated by almost all manufactures and many growers alike. The plants needs change very slightly in terms of ratios it's grossly misrepresented.

In terms of bloom nutes some small tweeking can be beneficial but WAY more harm is done than good by 90% of people using them.

I think we were on the NPK ratios but not the 3 weeks into flower before the start of bloom nutes. At least I missed it or its a side effect of the meds I was using at the time.lol Is this Tuesday?

Thank you, The home grower ( that's me) will see minimal differences and probably fk it up tweeking things that don't need tweeking.

Yeah it's kinda one and the same NPK ratios for cannabis needs in veg and flower vary minimally. Now switching to bloom nutes usually drastically lowers nitrogen levels. Thus changing NPK ratios. This leaves the plants often without enough stored nutrients to finish a healthy grow. So waiting until 3 weeks into flower is how you combat this.

Nutrients do not tell the plant to flower. Light cycle does. Photoperiod plants.

And 25% is a safer amount than half. Half can be too much.

The reason they would switch to bloom nutes before flipping is to facilitate strong branching. Extra potassium. Helps seedlings root too.

But i have not been able to time that right with seed plants. I dont know how they will grow. Have to dial in a cutting to get specific with nutes.

You have a great way of putting these concepts. Shows real understanding. Really nice work absorbing all this info. It aint easy. I studied like school for years about this when i had a caregiver growing my weed badly. And have not really ever stopped reviewing and reading new stuff. Even if most of this new stuff was known by the 90’s. Its being used for marketing now.

Yes. I learned that you need N during flowering!
