Hello, i just got into indoor grow, but i have a couple years of outdoor.

I have a 2x4 tent, with 400W HPS. I have a small exhaust and a small fan.
When I close my tend , humidity drops to <20% and temperature goes from 35º up to 40º (77F to 95F), even with the light more than 1m distance (3.3feet).

In this time of crisis i dont have much money (as you can tell). What do you think I would benefit the most? - Cool tube or humidifier? I think the cool tube is better, althout more expensive. Do you think a cool tube will make a difference in my case? If they cool the air by 4 degrees, is that worth it?
I've tried to change the setup, move things around, but with the material and knowledge i have i was not able to drop the temperature.

In the picture you can see an exhaust pulling air inside. The fan is usually pointed at the light. I have a hole on the top of the tent for air to get out.

Are you exhausting from the top of the tent? Can you lower the temp of the room the tent is in to allow cooler air into the tent? You can also run your lights on during the night and have them off during the day too.

I only have one exhaust, right now is at the bottom. If you only had one exhaust, would you put it in bottom sucking in cool air or at the top removing hot air? I tried the two, dont know wich is better.
But if I buy the cool tube, i will buy another exhaust for it of course.

The room my tent is in is 19ºC-22ºC, almost all day. Its very hard for me to decrease its temp.
The lights are on during the night (starting 10pm until 4pm), because electricity its cheaper at night.

I personally would pull air in from the bottom side and exhaust it out the top. Hot air rises....

your tent is setup wrong. get the humidifier and put it outside the tent. exhaust should be pulled from the top, open your vents on the bottom of tent. with a 400w in that tent and your exhaust, you should be able to get it within 8 degrees of ambient temps or better. room temps are fine.

carbon filter?
where is exhaust air going?
what is room humidity?
fan speed controller/variac?

Humidifier outside the tent? never thought of that, interesting. Will that humidify it inside properly?

The exhaust is just connecting outside the tent into the room.
The room humidity is around 40/60% (Its dry in my room lately, could it be because of the grow tent?)
The fan is 15W, i am not sure if thats what you are asking...

yep, place humidifier outside tent and increase the ambient humidity, yours isnt too bad, but you need to be able to raise it. if you place it inside tent the humidity just gets sucked out and lost. can you direct the exhaust out of the room by chance?

if your exhaust fan is only 15w, you'll need more power, sure thats right?. if so, that isnt moving enough air. in a 2x4, you can get away with using a booster fan, but an inline is better. like below.

once you get that sorted out, read this great post by @Aqua Man to understand VPD and what temp/humidity you need to achieve to allow best growth.

Its a cheap extractor, it has 15W but it can suck 107m3/h, 'supposedly'.

can i ask whats the link to the article?

whoops! my bad, here you go. it probably can move that much air, but when you add ducting it lowers its ability to move it as fast

Just set up the ventilation properly sucking hot air from the top. You could add a second fan blowing into the bottom of the tent to increase efficiency, and not need a cool tube or humidifier.
