Hey every one I have a question I was hoping some one could help answer! So my seedlings are not doing too well once they popped through they seemed to stop growing or doing any thing really which is really unusual since I have grown mirijuana one other time and that did not happen though I was strictly using window light. They werent even getting the 18-24 hrs of light. Untill their vegetative stage when I put them under a 1000 watt LED light I bought from amazon. I am thinking that might be too much for my little seedlings at this stage and wondered what wattage is preferred for them to strive. I have 4 seedlings. 3 in solo cups and one starting in a 3 gallon grow bag.

Welcome. Wet the whole medium and make sure you have some holes in the bottom of the cups. When watering seedlings think moist not wet. Looks like your in coco? Some added perlite will help tremendously with drainage. The “1000w” from Amazon is probably 100 real watts from the wall which will get you through veg but more light is needed. Usually 35w per square foot is rule of thumb. Happy grows.

Welcome Emily, listen to Burnz and add perlite. I always recommend soil for the first couple grows, coco can be tricky. Your little one looks to be in pretty rough shape. I'd hedge and drop another seed. Again, add perlite. Good luck. Happy growing.

Yes it is coco and when I move the plant from the solo cup into a pot it will have perlite I just purchased a bag of organic perlite. 70/30 ratio I think it should be. I also moved the light 24 inches from my seedlings. Keeping track of room temp and humidity. I put a humidifier next to them so I'm sure that helps. So moist not wet. Thank you!

So that 1000w is equivalent. Maybe 2-300 true watts. None the less I would be hanging it about 30-36" over the plants. Is it a blurple?

Funny was just discussing this in another thread. Keep seedlings warm. If you can like 80-85f should do them well.

They also like higher humidity like 65-75% for the first week or 2.

Coco has no nutrients so after a week you will need to give them tiny amount with watering. Like 200-300ppm. For the first week just tap water by take sure it's it's not cold or hot. If ya dip your finger in and don't feel a temp change... Your good.

Like was said above I would water the entire media and make sure you have drain holes cut in the bottom of the cups. Then wait at least a few days to water again as you don't want to keep them over saturated

So informative thank you! The light is just white and I do have holes on the bottom of the cups for drainage. What nutrients do you reccomend? I have a humidifier right next to my plants not sure why the humidity is so low though. The space is about 6 by 7 feet

Good idea to keep humidifier as far from the plants as possible and shut it off at night.

Bang for buck dry ferts there are lots of good options out there. Anything with 2-1-3, 2-1-2 ratio is where I like to be even 1-1-1. NPK ratio that is.

Nothing wrong with liquid nutes but you pay more for less. Some find them easier.

I use mega crop. But like I say any well balanced nutrient will work. Just make sure you start of with no more than 1/4 the recommended dose. Better to under feed than over feed and the plants will tell ya what they like.
