So from my understanding the plants generally want dryness in the soil periodically and should I water them every week the same day? Should I be misting and how often should I mist them? They're just seedlings right now so I am not really watering much just misting and I am doing that once or twice a day. They seem happy. Except for one which is probably due to lack of light which I moved closer but will still not make it more than likely:( not sure what to do for it it's so small. Maybe I should have more perlite in the coco mix. I've got two more seeds in the process of germinating. I do not have fertilizer but I am reusing some soil from previous canna plants and some organic egg shells... and a little used organic coffee grounds. But I would appreciate suggestion as to good fertilizer. Humidity is at 32% comfort and temp is at 72 farenheit

Generally, that big pot is way to big for that small seedling. Try to grow them out in the small cups until their roots have developed. The coco looks extremely dry and added perlite would be beneficial for aeration and drainage. I don’t grow in coco yet, but I know it needs to be more wet than that.
As for soil, fox farm ocean forest, happy frog, coco loco, are usually pretty popular mixes that have nutrients in the soil. Good for about a month. Temps and humidity need to come up for seedling as they like it warmer and more moist. Happy grows.

Hey emily , do what burnz said , first try and wiggle that small seedling out of that giant container , next , if using coco , spray or water every day until its saturated , it will dry out very fast , soil or promix are different , they retain moisture for days , coco does not....
You are lucky today , because your seedlings are doing ok and alive , you must be giving them constant attention....

But your on thin ice with the coco , make sure they ( your cups ) stay moist constantly , a day or two of neglect and a dry period , those delicate seedlings are going to be toast .....

i reccommend misting the medium , not really the seedling itself , but i would also reccommend starting seedlings in pro mix , careful with the foxfarm mixes as they have nutrients in them and can burn young plants .....

Sorry , i deleted the post about the chocolope , you already mentioned that its almost dead , i didnt read that .....

I think your chocolope died be ause of the above dry issues , not the light

Be careful the others are going to follow the same fate if not moist enough ....

So I only say the light may have done it because it was a few feet above the plant and it halted growth completely. I have kept the chocolope more wet than the others though. I will do that thank you for the advice !!! Really appreciate it

Thank you and yes I check on them often. I turned up the humidifier and temp in the small room they are in. And will moisten the soil more. Thank you for your advice I really appreciate it!
