so I’ve got 4 plants growing under a 600w LED grow light humidity is at 45% temp ranges from a low of 76 to a high of 83. I’m using fox farm happy frog soil and haven’t fed them any nutrients yet because I’ve heard this soil is nutrient rich and doesn’t need it. From the beginning I’ve had purple stems and thought maybe the plant would grow out of it or maybe it’s genetic. I’m starting to get purple with yellow tip though and I’m worried if i don’t make an adjustment my plants will suffer long term. My lights hang about 3 feet from the top of the canopy. I water every 3 days sometimes 4 days and let the water drip out the bottom when i do water, and water evenly throughout the soil. I’m watering with filtered sparkletts water which is reported to have a PH level of 6.28. Any suggestions? I feel like I’ve got my set up dialed in, i could just be overthinking it this is my first grow, any help is greatly appreciated.

I think your plants are just having a little bit of trouble getting used to the high nutrient content of your medium. They look pretty good overall and the purple that you see is pretty normal... when it becomes very notable, then it is usually a lockout deficiency. I commend you for not pouring more nutes on them, as a lot of newer growers would have done so. I think once the roots grow in a little, the plants should be OK. If you re-pot them, maybe dilute the FFarms medium a little with something without nutes and hit the sweet spot your plants desire. The slight yellowing of the tips is one indication, and your Rh seems OK... I would just let it continue and see what happens. If it stays like it is, I don't see any reason to change things. If it progresses, then a different action might be recommended, such as transplanting into something less hot. Flushing pre loaded soils doesn't usually work because they are time release, usually.

Yeah i was wondering if it was from the abundance of nutrients the soil already has and being so young. They’ve been doing pretty well though aside from that, luckily I did a bunch of research on a first grow before I dove in. I do plant to transplant probably next week to bigger pots and might mix in 25-35% of coco coir to dilute it. I plan to top and start some LST soon as well.
