Being a rookie grower and life long smoker has been beyond great. This is a GSC grow of autos. Wanted to start simple. A batch of Gorilla Glue is approaching and the plants are beauts. I made the rookie mistake of over feeding these a bit but of course I have a Lot to learn. Its like a Stephen King story where the plants became my master and it rules.
Anyone with input into organic growing for this rookie please reply with anything you can think of.
I'll post how I'm going about things shortly. Its truly therapeutic taking care of plants and cannabis in particular

Solid point. I got the seeds from I ❤ so not sure what breeder they are from. That's something I'm still learning as far as how important the breeder your getting your seeds from is/obviously is vital.
I'll post pics in a new thread of those. Just popped them in 5G air pots.
Seems Neptune is a way solid bank in particular/In-house Genetics and Compound are 2 breeders that are tops from what I gathered so far.
Side note, just orders some marine bio char to check out via Ebay

Magnets....put magnets near or on the plants, around the perimeter, they really do increase plant growth. Hardware store replacement window magnets work well.

What's your name, eh Clem. Welcome eh Clem to the Future

The Firesign Theater - I Think We're All Bozos on This Bus (1971) (Complete Album)

That's something I'll definitely try out. Magnetic fields are no joke that's for sure. I have music playing for them pretty much 24/7 with breaks of course. That I find makes a huge difference I found out early. That's nothing new. Remember watching an episode of the old show In Search Of ( all eps on YouTube hosted by Leonard Nimoy) got to love how temperamental they are

Never heard of this band. Always cool to come across a band you never heard. Ill be rocking this out later. Rocking it like Neil Peart rocking his Hemispheres stache

Ass Kicking organic soil (Clackamas coot inspired)
7.5 gallons

Neem and karanja cake (allows plant to have natural pest resistance)
Gypsum/basalt trace minerals
crab meal
oyster shell
Azomite
kelp/seaweed (bioaccumulator plants store all needed macro/micronutrients required for growth)
all the above compile into 2 cups in similar amounts

1 cup freshly ground Malted 6 row barley flour mixed in soil. 1/4 cup mixed as topdress every week after week 3-4 ( Malt barley has amylase converting calcium sources to chitinase along with other useful enzymes)
1/3 sphagnum peat moss
1/3 really quality compost/worm castings (good established biology/ nutrient)
1/3 Aeration amendment (pumice, Hydrocorn, perlite) Biochar added allows home for microbes/fungi

I have also seen good results with Compost tea added weekly and URB natural in water

The barley flour sounds to be the deal. Gonna have to check this out.I'm on the hydrocorn and biochar. I just ordered some marine biochar which I plan on peppering in the mix.
With the 1x a wk feedings, your going with the barley correct?
I ended up picking up the Fat Flowers mix from Dragonfly Earth Medicine. I tried the molasses with some organic milk as a treat/tea and comparing the reactions the Fat Flowers got them praying. Not that they didn't love the molasses but they didn't pray over it.
Very cool info, thank you

Yea the barley flour is once a week. I like to also give a weekly sugar source/microbe boost too like boogie brix and/or compost tea

Is this a good one to go with or could you suggest another brand I'd be better off peeling off like Frank Zappa's guitar solo on Stevie's Spanking?

Welcome to the Farmely dude, I'm a newbie myself as a grower and on the farm. I got my seeds directly from the Breeders, Barney's Farm and Dutch Passion. I'll post a vid instead.

Looking sweet! I just picked up Coast of Maine Platinum Soil to check out. From what I gather, going right into a 5 gal is the way to grow with this soil in particular. Also with this soil its advised to keep it slightly more watered then others. Right now I'm also using Fox Farm Happy Frog for seedlings then mixing the Happy with Fox Farm Ocean very light on the ocean for 1st transplant then progressively stronger to prevent overfeed and I have 2 bins for veg and soil mix of different strengths and amendments added then let it sit for at least a month with the Flower bin in particular.
Gonna see how the Coast soil works out. The mix Freeman OG posted on this thread looks like a banger.
What soil are you working with?
Also, for pests = ALL PER PLUS is the deal. I'm using that outside with perfect results. Its all natural/ smells great
Another pest mold remedy/ preventative is brewing a neem seed meal + earth worm castings tea. And of course insect frass is great to repel insects
Thank you!

I'm using bottled nutes, I will be doing some research on Organic nutrition soon but as my 1st grow I just want to get a hang of the basics first before starting to explore. Next year I'm going to get some males and try and create my own strains. I'm using Canna Coco coir Professional + as my media, washed and buffered it myself with 7.5ml of Calmag per gallon of water. The Platinum soil is that actual Soil or Coco Coir?

The Platinum mix is the actual soil. Here's a pic of the bags ingeridents. I did my 1st transplant of Gorilla Glue with it and the plants just popped.I lightly spray the roots with some seaweed mix during the transplant to excite them

Yeah I will definitely have a read and check it out. At the moment I am planning on just sticking with coco coir but I will be making a comparison soon and trying soil. Thanks for the info my man 👍🏾

Here's a good chart to scope out if using this soil. Note the container size and corresponding differences in maintenance

Here's a good chart to scope out if anyone is debating using this soil.
I'm doing a side by side with Fox Farm.
