Hey guys. I've got a 4 day old seedling going under a HLG 100 v2 3000k led. Anyone know what height I should keep the light over the seedling? This is my first time growing and am nervous of messing up. I've searched different forums but can't nail down much. Thanks!

Get the lux app from the play store or apple, and keep it so your lux is around 5000.

So I downloaded 3 free lux apps and compared them. They all showed very differently. I used the front camera, pointed up to the light on all. Any recommendations?

Yeah i was afraid that was going to be the case but never wanted to actually confirm lol.. I suspect hte same happens with different models of phones too.. different lens = different result..

But try an take the average of the 2 highest number so you got 8-10k Figure your average reading is about 9k at that distance.

I would keep the light a lil higher so the reading is closer to 5k.

as they no longer are tiny seedlings then lower the light or bump up the intensity.

Yup, let's kick it old school! Place the back of your hand at the height of the plant for 30 seconds, if it feels warm on your hand it's warm on the plant, so raise it, good luck!

I use 600w led, i back my light off to 34inc till the leaves emerge from the tabs, your pushing allot of light i would think 36 to 40inc but you will have to find your sweet spot, remember you want your seedlings reaching for the light not shying away from it.

I just started 6 seeds under a 65w cfl @5". App shows about 8-9000. I don't want my seedlings stretching to the light.

Thanks all! I had lowered it a bit because it seems to be slow going, but after this I raised it back up to about 24" and will go from there

While I have ya'll, how does she look? Today is day 5 and after looking through a ton of other pics I feel like she is going slow. But what do I know, I'm a first timer. Pic is from this morning. She's an auto. Hasn't stretched much at all and her stem seems thicker than in other pics I've seen. Is this something to be concerned about or is it just first timer jitters?
