Coming into week four I decided to do a flush with foxfarms sledgehammer. I followed directions but now a 2 days later I noticed the lower leaves where the flowers are have turned dark green maybe its normal and I didn't notice untill now. But the weird thing I noticed is on those leaves acouple overlap like 1 or 2 blades and when i move them its light green just in the spot that was covered. Any idea what this could be? First thought was nitrogen toxicity but does that happen after a flush and only in exposed spots. Then I thought it may have something to do with my lights( Marshydro ts1000) being too close maybe? I just don't know. Please help! Oh, like 3 hours after flush i added 2 teaspoons of black strap molasses unsulfured to a gallon of water and fed with that. I hope that wasn't the issue it was the first time I tried that.

Why were you flushing at week 4 of flower? That should be like, prime nute time....

It sounds to me like your baby is making some tough calls about what to do with the nutrients she has stored now that her root area is cleaned out of nutrients. Productive leaf cells only, ya know.

But I could be totally off. I just don't know why you flushed or what you hoped to accomplish.

From what I've read your supposed to flush every 3 or 4 weeks to flush out the salt build up. It just happens that it landed on the beginning of week 4 for me. Isn't that what most people do?

What are you feeding that you are flushing and what nutrients has she had since?

The way I am reading it, you have not fed nutes since flushing. That's something I would only do for multiple days if I had a problem I was fixing where she was unhappy. Your girl is hungry for sugar and she needs nutes to make it from light efficiently! Yes, she shouldn't have a nute toxicity, but she does need them.

I don't grow in pure soil, so I could be totally full of shit. I'm sorry for that. But this is my understanding. I hope someone else jumps in.

First I should say this is my first grow. I've been feeding her fox farm nutes following the fox farm feeding schedule chart for soil. I just flushed on Sunday and haven't given any nutes. Was going to do that on next feeding which was going to be today or tomorrow depending on if the soil dried out enough. Should I have feed nutes right after flush? I couldn't find any thing that said to or not to. So I just gave it water like I've been doing every other feeding.

Always replace the old built up nutrients with fresh nutrients after flushing.

Outside of an obvious problem I avoid flushing when possible, especially in bloom. Its very stressful for the plant. Try a "water only" feed every third feed or so. Make sure you water to runoff and you shouldnt have to flush at all.

I would absolutely follow the advice of @Dr.B here. He is ruthless in pushing plants, so if he says it stresses the plant I would believe him 🙃

If I know one thing, its how to severely stress out a plant lol

I like to use my Zeus juice then hit them hard with nutes

Well damn. It seems every time I try to do something good it backfires. I'll give it some nutes today to be safe. Thank you for all the info. Next time I'll ask BEFORE I do something new.

Keep an eye on your runoff, if it’s not over 300ppm what your giving it you’re golden. If runoff is a bit high I run 50% strength with Drip Clean to remove any buildup of salts, 2x the amount, check runoff, if it’s in the range leave it alone, next day full strength to replace what was removed.

They like to be stressed out occasionally. It makes for a more productive plant if you don't let it go too far.

Awesome. I'm starting to feel better now. Thank you all for the help. I really do appreciate it and I'm sure I'm going to need more help somewhere along the line.

I don't understand this nute buildup mumbo jumbo. Youre growing in a container and fertigating the plant. If nutes are building up, just use less nutes, right? Once the plant uses them, they are gone, right? Are the hydro companies putting inert ingredients in the nutes or what? Just so they can sell you some Liquid Bidet flushing agent to clean your plants ass off?

Heres what I was trying to explain in my original post. All the leaves matched color but when I cut the one above the leaf in these pics the color was different. Lighter green only in the spots that were covered. Please tell me this isn't some kind of fungus or something.

I'd be more worried about all the white stuff on the leaves vs flushing the toilet.....I mean pot.

Are you foliar spraying anything?

Lol there's no white stuff. Only terps and my flash was on. Plus the camera on my phone sux and is cracked. Had to take the pics like 10 times to get decent ones.
