Have had these white splotches that don't wipe away for about a week now, they haven't gotten any bigger but seem to very slowly spread to other leaves. In the pictures the splotches look yellow but they are definitely white.

That looks more like a bug problem. Check the undersides of your plants leaves, looks like spider mite damage to me.

the video takes about all kinds of mites. You look to have spider mite damage as stated above. I sincerely hope not..
