Hi all, I usually grow autos under my Mars ts1000 in a 3x3x6ft and have decided to try a photoperiod now. Will a single ts1000 be enough? Or will a 250w hps be better for canopy penetration and overall yield? Also with the Mars my temps during lights on is a little low sitting at around 22/23°c

Led u want 35w (actual watts not advertised watts) per square foot.

HID you want 50.

3x3=9x35=315 you want around 315 actual watts for led. Or around 450w for HPS.

I run 2 vivosun 3x3x6 tents with LED.
I wouldn't want HID bulbs in a tent. The fixture and distance from the canopy would eat up 3ft of your 6. Not to mention the heat and extra power, and bulb changes every 6 or 8 months.

I suggest looking at a 240w kingbrite quantum board. I rock a single 240w in my 3x3's, because of the added efficiency of samsung lm301s and a couple supplemental red leds, it performs like a champ.

thanks for all the info, I will look at the lights now. P.s your plants look beautiful

It'll veg just fine but not enough for flower.

Using both at the same time would be better. Or just get a decent led fixture 👍

250w hps is not enough for decent flower.
Thanks alot. Been looking t my options and value wise I may get another Mars ts1000 and run 2 of them
