When they're ready you're gonna get a fat pack of f1's too dont worry. Need those pollen skills u got on the f2's and forward 👍

Cool tyvm cause my final bomb was the seedlings from the (HSC Pineapple x Purple Kush) x HSC Purple Mountain Majesty cross I'm working on. And that's all I got. :)))) and I was getting tired of running around and taking pics. :D. Cant wait to wade in!

I haven't seen you talk much about this project and don't know a ton about the strains. Are you going for sweet indica with GSC power?

I think that any project anybody on the forum is working on would benefit from a spreadsheet like the one @amekins made if they want to make seeds available to other growers to sift through phenos.
The sherbert brings a terp profile I like better than the cookies tbh. I want to keep as much of that but on a well structured plant. GSC and sherbet both grow ridiculous dense buds on the worst "frame/nodes" I've ever seen. I am pretty sure this trait was overlooked by the original breeders because everything else was such fire. I want to make a sherb like plant that yeilds like the sour and blue dream etc... stacked kush like colas that touch each other. I feel like right now the ratio of stem to bud is just terrible. Other than that there's not much to improve on with this strain so it should be easy right???? Hahahaha 🤣🤣🤣

Edit @Milson didn't even realize you weren't talking to me haha

So to break it down simply you think it looks twiggy and you want it bushy.
Let's just say relative to the size of the plants they could yeild a lot more. I think that's why commercially sherbet just didn't stay as successful ...it didn't have the name recognition of the girl scout cookies despite being its offspring and economically the commercial guys always want high yeilders.

But I also know 100% for a fact that more than a few major breeders in the US are working on sherbet crosses right now. 🌱🌱

So the strain in general was not successful and didn’t yield very much? Wait a minute how do you know this stuff? Where do YOU get this information🧐?

See how the colas don't connect though? Even the nugs right below the mains can't quite fill in the gaps. This trait also makes the plants very top heavy too which is annoying.

Part of it was my training/lack of scrog on this run etc I can see that, but I can also see what's strain specific like node length.

Spend some time listening to the podcasts of the actual breeder's themselves not forum threads. I suggest starting with the future cannabis project 👍

I think that any project anybody on the forum is working on would benefit from a spreadsheet like the one @amekins made if they want to make seeds available to other growers to sift through phenos.

I don't talk about everything I've got going on because there's a lot and I don't have THAT much time. I'm always late updating my GD stuff. Always. Makes me look like super grow man able to squeeze mighty buds out in record time. Joke.

Ok so first please understand the method I follow on new strains. And if I start talking too much or if this level of detail is tedious, then tell me to shut up.

Pop 3 to 5 seeds. I lean more towards 4 to 5 now.
Into seedling cups.
Cull obvious deficient seedlings in the first two weeks.
Transplant to bonsai containers with promix, no additives up to the first node.
Let 'em ride on full nutes.

I'm into this stunting project where I've sort of figured out a way to take a plant that would normally max at 4 to 5 feet and keep it around 2 to 2.5 feet.

Normal circumstances, transplant to a 5 gal bag 2 weeks before flowering.

Stunting Project? They flower in the bonsai containers until they crown. When that crown of the cola starts to fill out and down, then I transplant into a 5 gal grow bag. They don't get much taller. Stretch is over. My theory is that their roots have a chance to spread out to the volume of a full sized plant. They produce monster bud. They are just half the height of a normally grown plant. There is usually a stall in the plant for about a week. Then it slowly picks back up and then whoosh goes nuts.

I'm not sure this will work with every single strain in the world. But it's worked on HSC Squirt, HSC Purple Mountain Majesty, HSC Pineapple Muffin, Lemon Skunk #2, Blue God, Blue Cookies, GSC, and I'm sure something has been left out. Now I'm trying it with a bunch of Kush strains. And as you know Kush go wiry and tall at first. So... if I can get wiry short? I'm gonna pee myself.

The reason this is important to me is because I have limited indoor grow area and my LEDs kick the dog shit out of Mother Sun. And... I like a LOT of variety. So yield? I have stupid supply and it's all personal consumption. I don't care about pulling a pound out of a plant. I care about that planting yielding everything it's got in form and function lol. Be pretty and great to smoke please. That's all I ask for all of this freaking effort.

Before I flower anything, I take two clones. I like them long. They do very well in an aero machine. Takes a little longer but that gives me the ability to sex the donor, look for any shitty growth traits, and then select 1 of the 2 clones that are performing the best in terms of root structure and top side if I decide to continue with the strain.

The clone gets transplanted into a bonsai container and veg'd. I hold off on anything further until I smoke the test nug from the donor. If the nug is good and I'm happy with the plant and it's the best of the best of the batch I just got done cycling, then it makes bonsai. And everything else is trashed from that strain. That plant will get topped and twisted into a mini tree. Tap root gets trimmed to completely stop main stem height growth. And it gets nursed through the biggest shock of its life. Cool thing is that if it survives, then it will live for years upon years if cared for properly. Anything over a year old gets transplanted to a 16 x 16 x 3 container for permanent keeps.

That being said... both my Blue God and Blue Cookies strains went through the same thing twice. This remaining female has been cloned a few times and then bred back to itself. Used the damned silver. Really the only way to do it. Stored 100 or so of her seeds. And then when this Blue God flipped male, it was already mainlined. So I was like... they both are dominant indica. Both have tight single cola formation. Both mainline. Both produce rock hard frosty nug roses. And they both have different effects. One is dreamy glue your ass to the couch with pain relief effects. While the other makes you feel like you've got a rocket strapped to your ass and you have EVERYTHING TO DO NOW but the good news is you are superman and fuck it. Dive in. Now if I could be stoned with massive super powers? I'm all about it. So I routinely smoke these two together for just that reason. I decided to put them together on that 1 in 1 zillion chance that the combination i get out of my grinder can be got out of the plant.

So I flowered the Blue Cookies fem quick. She was already mature so she flipped in a couple of days Waited until I had about a 100 or so pistils on it (not many at all as you can see) and then shook the shit out of those stalks over her.

Normally I'd collect the pollen while the fem was flowering out heavily and then paint it on the buds I want to pollinate with a water color brush lol. Give you seeds and makes any popcorn actually useful while not screwing up the bud.

For this one I want 40 - 50 seeds to see what happens. If I need more, I have both the seeds self produced from moma and the pollen from that Blue God. I can replicate this anytime I want/need to.

But the length of this thread is why I have a perpetual highlight reel going :)))) I don't have time to pound stuff like this out in detail all the time. My current strain list is pretty deep... ready?

3Thirteen - Sin City Juice
Dino - Black Light Bubba
Dino - Rainbow Wiggler

By design no one has to prove anything in this thread. All I am asking is that you grow out the seeds I send you, use a simple catalog system, report everything here, and try to cross two plants if you can. Repeat ad nauseum lol

Its seems like there's already a competitive vibe starting with some other breeding folks round here and without naming names that's the LAST thing that I want. 👍😁

Also not a big fan of waking up to like 6 pages of cat pictures on a Sunday morning so let's try to keep the content lightly based on what we are doing ok? haha

But I love me some cute kitty pics. Someone should start a thread. ❤🐕

Any chance you have pictures of the HSC - Purple Mountain Majesty?
I'm totally in love with colourful strains at the moment, my next/2nd grow will be a variety of nice coloured strains instead of a tent full of all the same as I'm doing now, just thought that was the smartest thing for a first time grower.

I see the nugs and colas don’t connect. Is it top heavy every time you grow it?

Sorry. Didnt mean for it to lay out like that. Milson and I interact on his diary and mine and sporadically in a number of other threads too.

More background... I run a small tech dev company. Process engineering. So everything I do, grow included, is uh like that. Dont mean to come off as the god of pot cause I'm not. I just catalog everything I learn and sometimes that's a wicked pain in the ass.
