Couple questions..
.what size pots?
What training techniques did you use?
How long were you in veg?
And did you leave the runoff in those bins and let it dry instead of emptying it?

Hi,
Those are in 3 gallon fabric pot. They're autoflower. The only training I did was called FIM'ing. But.. it didn't really work the way should have. Those top colas should be 4 colas together. As far as runoff, it depends. If the humidity was low I'd leave it in the tubs. Otherwise I have a battery operated pump. At least once a week they were flushed with usually a gallon, until everything going in the top comes out the bottom, then another 1/2 gallon ir so wash out any salt buildup. That would definitely get pumped out. Didn't really have much algae growth until last month or so.

Those are old autos. They are around 14 weeks. But trichromes aren't where I want them yet. Soon

Also, fyi, I have an sf4000 spider farmer led and TerraBloom Ventilation. I also used Recharge every few days and silica every watering

Next will be Think different, Banana blaze, gorilla glue. I'd to do another NL but not sure I'll have the room. With autos though, you really want to fill your tent

Ty for the quick response. Im on my second grow hand watering in saucers. Low fertigating is making it easy though with 16 plants lol. That nug looks quite enjoyable

Yw,

If you're using epsom or magnesium supplements try to to water to 20% runoff regularly and flush with nute water once a week or so. Salt is good but at high levels it's toxic. You wanna be on top of that. I'm told it's the no. 1 issue when growing in coco

Good luck!! Post your progress

Thank you Keifer! Yea that was my biggest issue on my first grow now i'm giving ph'd water every other day instead of nutes . coco is lovely but alot of work sometimes.

It'll get easier 😆 I ph my water to 5.8 with nutes every watering. I started checking runoff ppm ph etc.. but it goes in 5.8 comes out 5.8 and there was never any ppm issu. After feeding, runoff would was around 1100ppm.

I've got a real nice dropper... I know exactly how many ml I need to get from nuted water or plain water (for final flush)

So at this point, all I do is mix nutrients and water. Haven't checked anything since early in this grow. I do check ph once in awhile in case my tap water changes, but it hasn't so far

I've never grown an auto on purpose but I have read you are not supposed to FIM them. It's more of a photo thing. There's several power auto growers here please correct me if I am wrong on that.

Nope, FIM'ing doesn't work great on autos. But I only attempted to FIM. I actually topped

From what I've read, with autos, you can do some minor lst early on with plastic clips. Some say top after 4 nodes.. idk. I do know with gorilla glue you either need top and train a little or it'll be 5' tall and you'll be super cropping at the end. I've not had great luck with that, but I may have done it too late. The northern lights I think you could get away with not training at all because they don't get tall, at least for me. I've grown NL twice, both ways, doesn't seem to make much difference

If you plant straight to the 3 gallon pot with autos, you save a little stress. But the least amount of stress is the go to. But some strains don't cooperate lol

Yup, that's pretty much what I have read by the people I trust growing autos.

Northern lites used to be one of my favs but got supplanted by bubba kush not too long ago. GG was never a great performer for me. I wonder how the ruderelis bred into them changes the end result smoke report from the photo parents?

Everytime I grow Gorilla it's a different type of plant and buds. Sometimes the plant is tall and skinny,, other times they're short and fat.. Some real nice tight buds, other times it huge leafy buds. But it always has a great high.

Both times I've grown NL I get one green plant and one kinda purplish or red. The purple one got me ripped last time the green one didn't as much.

I think the ruderelis in all autos creates an extra opportunity for mutants or varients. Autos are ok, fun.. pretty much guaranteed to get something.. but after I burn through the rest of my auto seeds I'll be growing photoperiod. I have enough for 2 more grows if no one sends me anymore lol. I don't think they're any easier at all. They seem pretty intolerant to mistakes.. watering the wrong way, ph fluctuations etc. I grew afgan (regular weed) long ago with a 400w MH and the old 20 20 20 miracle grow. Never had a brown spot. Always perfectly healthy and consistently potent. Really potent. Great taste too. That was with almost 0 knowledge, no ph pen, no ppm pen... never heard of runoff. My biggest trouble was supporting the heavy colas. String, lots of string

I take that back, I've failed totally on trying to grow Girlscout cookies. I can't grow Girlscout autos... I found them very sensitive. Everytime before they mature and finish they would die in the pot pretty much from old age. I've had one over 16 weeks old and just stop growing with crystal clear trichromes.

No problem with my forum stomper. That’s a gsc cross that’s an auto. I’ve had success with autos, but don’t think easier. Especially when comes to veg.

Right, but seems some strains of autos have more varied phenos than others. Sometimes I've wondered if the seedbank mixed up the seeds they're so different 🤣 It's hard to tell with my microscopic lense of 5 plants 🤣
