Ughh, the dreaded Japanese Beatles have arrived here in Michigan.Got the plants sprayed with Neem.

Also lost a branch already due to weight. I thought yesterday about supporting some branches, but thought, 'Nah, no buds yet should be fine' Sure enought big ol 2 footer laying on the ground next to one of my plants.

I've always used bamboo stakes and even some tent stakes in the past along with string and velcro. Never could figure out how to use tomato cages properly, until I had an idea today. I cut the cages in half. Took 2 cages to surround the plants but i think there is potential for it to work. Will let you all know in a few weeks how it goes. Peace!
