I have a 2x3 tent and am going to upgrad lighting. I'm on a budget and trying to decide between viparspectra p1500 or 2 bestva bp1000's. Thevtotal price would be the same for either choice. Does anyone have any experience with these light or have any advice. I would like to grow 2 plants at a time for full growth cycle.

So thought i would mention this as there as been a plethora of "1000w light" posts.
The real number is amp draw and based on input voltage... we can calculate power.. or in this case. we know power, we know input voltage...then we can calculate for amperage

1659586628159

And according to Vipraspectra... it consumes 150 watts (not no 1000w replacement)

P = IxV... we know P and V so we solve for I... 150w/110v=1.36Amps... So at full power that is how much amperage it is pulling. A kill-a-watt can verify that info.

Seeing the PPFD map... 18inch and probably dim it during initial stage (seedling to couple of weeks into veg).

You're going to want more light.
Well known and tested numbers are 35w per sq foot for led.

2x3x35=210 watts.

You would be better off with both. I suggest a 250w or 240w kingbrite quantum board. Or something like it.
Maybe 2x100w quantum style boards.

Okay, thank you. Let me ask this though. Regardless of brand, would it be better to have 1 large light or 2 lights half the size of the larger light?

It would be better to have 2 smaller so you can more evenly distribute the light over your canopy.

I can make a couple suggestions if you need. But essentially you'll want 2 x 100w quantum style boards.
