I have had rot before.
This doesn't look the same, but my friend thinks it is rot.

I am afraid that is bud rot. It tends to manifest itself in the largest colas first. Once you see it on one usually within 4 days you will start to find more

Thanks for answering.
I take it you're sure?
It is one of the biggest ones, after the previous biggest had to be removed for the same reason.

Can you shed any light on the purple colour on the leaves?
Is that a problem?
It's an auto.

The brown is definitely bud-rot :( sorry.

I once had a blueberry widow who developed dark purple leaves/buds similar to your leaves...this was according to plan :) some strains turn purple/blue when they get cold for a few days. my plan was simple: I flipped the plants a bit late in season such that the last 2or3 weeks of flowering was during end-autumn

Thanks.
I'm going to harvest it now, I suspect the rot will keep happening if I leave it to grow, its only a couple of days since I lost a large bud to rot.

The weather has turned pretty crap lately, so that could well bethe cause of the purple.

Thanks.

The purple is caused by Anthocyanins and is natural occurring.
