So I have 2 feminized diesels that just finished week 2 of 12/12. I think I see balls/male flowers forming on one of them. Can someone help me identify?
It’s the damnedest thing…..I trained the heck out of one plant and was a little paranoid about it going hermi……but this is the plant that I did much less training with.
Anyway, if it is a hermi, what’s next??
Should I take it out and destroy and hope for the best with the remaining plant??
Should I try to pluck the balls and watch for more??
This really sucks……although I know if you grow long enough you’ll get a bad break eventually.
So give me the low down…..and thanks to everyone.
Did my girl go hermi
Did my girl go hermi 2
Did my girl go hermi 3

mmm ya..
do you care if some of your weed has seeds?
yes the buds probably won’t get as big as if it didn’t have to concentrate on producing seeds but trichomes will ripen and get you high..

Hermie...Yes, but I doubt it has anything to do with training. 99% of the time it's genetic.
It's so early to show I'd kill it. A few bananas very late and near harvest is no biggie but nads and cotton balls = trash crop

I understand not wanting to take a 50% loss after the time/energy investment. Last summer I pulled two herms from a 5 plant tent. I imagine they had so-so genes based on my source, and the other 3 from a legit source finished successfully.

I hated it at the time but now, starting grow 3, I have no regrets about taking the loss.

I’ve had late occurring nanners and they were not a problem….plucked and watched for more. But with 8-9 weeks to go I’ve never had any male parts show themselves.
How long can I let it stay in the grow space before it eventually pollinates the other plant?
If i don’t see very many male flowers, what are the chances of just a few seeds if I let grow and pluck whatever I see??
Sorry for the 20 questions but I hate to lose this one……it was really rockin and looking good.

I don’t know the answers to your two questions. But if you happen to have a friend who has any curiosity about breeding crosses (or if you do), let the plant live.

I just wasn’t willing to perpetuate what I assumed were bad genetics.

let HER grow and pluck whatever YOU see rather than consign the plant to an early grave. So let us speak in our quiet voices a minute to admit that there are only 2 kinds of weed: Good and Mo'Beta. Maybe this weed as It matures and grows will be good solid smoking weed. What's wrong with that? Keep one eye open and one eye blind as you look at the plant....and realize it too is part of nature's bounty.

I would try to save it.dont know if that's the right answer ,but just what I would do.smoked some.pretty good herb that had seeds in it before.

Salt the earth she grew in. Get biblical on it!
They would rue the day they crossed me. They wish they had been trees so the worst fate would have been used as my toilet paper. Let the plant world know. Us meat based creature rule. But also. Pollination. Canopy space. Let another takes its food. Kick out the useless ball haver.

this plant is hermie, dont breed with it or its seeds bro.
sad truth is you should treat it as a male its very early balls

I had no idea just hilarious some of the responses could possibly be…..the humor has helped ease the pain of losing half of my crop. As my lights turn on in the grow space my mind is equally as illuminated and I know what must be done. It’s an early grave for the ball haver…
Many thanks

Don’t assume you will lose half your crop. Flatten out the one you have as much as possible and cover as much of your space as you can. She should produce better by herself than she would have with company. prolly won’t recover all of the yield from a second plant this far into flower, but you will get some back at least.

I’m hoping going solo and getting more light will boost this one. She’s got a lot of flower sites…..now if they can all fatten up.
I’ll be nervous as a cat until she finishes. I guess the odds of 2 plants both going hermi are slim…….we shall see.
Thanks for the response..

looks like she can do with some defo sometime in the coming week, or not upto you. plants looking beautiful btw she will be happier on her own, you have a grow thread, trying to determine cause for your claw. or figured it out already?

Pluck the balls off if you see them and keep growing.

If you see bananas, you can pluck them, but plucking them won't do anything since the bananas pollinate as they come outward, so all "damage" is done by the time you see them.

One of my last plants had a few balls show up - I plucked them off and let it ride. Bananas showed up the last 2 - 3 weeks. No seeds in either plant. Some people are too quick to say "Chop it! KILL IT! BURN IT TO THE GROUND", but 99% of the time that's not necessary. Even "hermied" weed can still be really good, and I'm willing to bet anyone who's bought street weed has smoked exactly that a few times and never knew about it.
