Hello All,

I'm currently 15 days into my first grow of some Auto Flowers and curious if I could get some input on one of my seedlings? I have 1 seedling (purple punch Auto) that has been extremely slow to grow and is starting to look a bit rough, the colors look off and the leaf's are starting to curl up on the edges.

Grow Medium:
Fox Farm Happy Frog Soil (2/3) mixed with Ocean forest (1/3) and some additional perlite. I amended the soil with 2.5tbsp of Gaia Green 4-4-4, 2-8-4 and Mykos prior to planting my seed.

Watering Habits:
I was informed by a buddy that I may have overwatered a bit as I was misting the top soils almost daily as it appeared super dry. Now I'm waiting about 2-3 days between each watering giving each plant about 250ml a water pH to 6.2-6.5. I'm just trying to keep it the media moist now.

Environment:
I've been holding a steady 78f-80.5f during the day with an RH of 65%-75%, at night the temps dip down to 68f-69f and humidity stays the same. My circulation fan was closest to this seedling and I think she may have gotten some abuse from the wind, so I've raised the fan a bit and its mainly only hitting my other 3 plants now (hoping this helps).

Any insight would be appreciated,

If you look closely all your plants have leaf’s that are curling.

The pics are from your 2&3rd photos so you can see yourself

your first photo looks like that seed has less seed vigour

I think either may of got to hot at one point or your ph is out as you said your ph is within range your light maybe to close or lightly your plants got a bit of wind burn with the fan being to close

Overwatering will cause you problems latter down the line if it becomes a habit wait for the soil to dry out poke your finger in if it still feels moist maybe leave it till the next day alou in veg every 2-3 days seems about right in flower you water a lot less and it ends up roughly 3/4 days don’t go by the top soil at all the roots aren’t at the top and definitely don’t mist the top soil it’s below ground you should be more interested in. The top could be dry and the bottom as wet as a pond and the roots drown

Thanks for the input, I have my light (AC infinity IONBOARD S33) currently mounted 2.5' above my plants and it's running at 100%. I will raise it a bit and keep monitoring the temps. If I look at the app, I have had a few times where it's gotten to 83.4f. I'll keep tinkering with my exhaust settings to try and dial in an 80 max.

Anything I can do for the seedling vigor?

My infrared thermometer just got delivered and I did a quick test of the plants. They are all sitting at 81.7 degrees on the leaf, I will tinker and try to keep this around 78.

Now that you're dialing in VPD, let's talk lights. Do you have a way to measure light (par/ppfd)? You can download the Photone app, calibrate it with your light manufacturer's PAR map, and get a decent idea about the light intensity your plants are getting. Highly recommended!

6 inches away that’s really close.

I don’t know much about that light or how many watts it’s throwing out however to give a idea my old 200w I would keep between 26” and 36” away. You don’t need the light on 100% atm
As for the seeds vigour no it still will produce it will just be behind the others a bit

Sorry if I mistyped, I had my light at 2.5 feet so 30". I've raised it up to 36" now. It's a 240w LED.

Oh that's a great chart! I will download that app and give it a try. VPD targets is nothing I've looked at too much yet, I've mainly focused just on keep humidity between 65%-75%. Now that I have a infrared thermometer I can get my sensors calibrated correctly as clearly I'm not getting the temps I was being shown.

Where that chart can really come in handy for is anticipating VPD conditions that you typically naturally get most often, and then figure out exactly what level of change you need (heat/cool/dry/moist).

Better to set a target and make it happen than chase it all the time.

Thanks so much, I used that app and tested the light where I had it at 2.5' and I was pulling 575 ppfd. I've got raised up to reach the recommend PAR map provided by AC infinity now.

Would it be beneficial to dim my light a bit? I've been running at 100% the whole time with a sunrise and sunset transition of 30 minutes.

yeah...it's too much dude. for seedling try a 250-300 par..

Exactly.

Nice thing is when lights are dimmable, you can lower the lights to heat the canopy, and dim them. Raise them for a cooler canopy, but can simply twist the dial to one hundo.

But always measure. When familiar, you'll come to know what distances and power levels result in your desired par/ppfd.

This is what I need to learn and get dialed in. My scientific approach was to keep my seedlings/young plants out of the direct footprint and gradually slide it over as it aged.

What do you have wrapped around your airpots? You're setup looks great.
