Check your buds for bud rot. The brown sugar leaves are a dead give away.
I'm growing Afghan Autos and found it in them.

Some plants are more susceptible than others.
A couple of years ago I grew 2 critical photos right next to each other and 1 got it really bad and the other didn't get it at all.
The thing is, the plant that has it may have it inside the buds where you can't see it. And you really shouldn't smoke it.

I make edibles so I go through my buds with a fine toothed comb (not literally) and cut away all rot I see, then I wash in a peroxide/lemon juice bath, rinse and dry with a dehydrator. Pretty much ruins the smokeability but works for me.

All right I appreciate that, thank you. On the other hand when do you think I should clip and hang?

You need to look at the trichomes with a magnifier. Clear is not ready, cloudy/white is good, cloudy with a few amber is best.
Take care of the botrytis or it will consume your whole plant. (had it happen a couple years ago when I left on vacation and had someone else water them)

I totally understand the magnifying glass and the trichomes. I have done plenty of research on that end. I'm just wondering typically how long to Auto flowers take you from start to finish? Well once the plant breaks the surface of the soil. Thanks again for your help.

LOL I'm asking you. I'm just asking a general time frame that way I can pay attention to the trichomes a lot more during that time.

Dude. That's bud rot! Botrytis.. it's some nasty shit.. like the other guy said. It starts inside the bud, by the time u see it it's off and running... I would immediately cut off the good buds .. dip in hydrogen peroxide and rinse... Try to peek inside the good ones.. u will prob find ones that look ok on outside but inside their is rot. I grow outdoor in VA... I deal with it every year.. Google budwashing. It only takes a day or two to fuck up a whole plant
Good news is if your diligent. U can still pull some great bud out of your grow

when the pkg says 9 wk strain, go 11 weeks - check Trichs - Your Buds should feel hard when their ready...
