This oughta be a fun one… let’s see if we can fill this 4x4 up with one plant, Scrog style!

I’m running a 30 gallon pot with living soil, and the gravity fed blumat watering system with a 15gal aerated reservoir.

Let the games begin!

Seed was direct sewn on 8/3, and sprouted on 8/6.

cover crop has been going for a few weeks, been trimming it back as needed. threw down some castings and a little kashi to help digest the leaf litter. Roughly 50 red wigglers in there doin their slimy thang!

still trying to decide if I want to do my LST in a 3-5gal before in transplant into the 30 gal, or just work her from the big pot the whole way through… we shall see!

thanks for following along!

Terminated the cover crop and switched over to the blumat soaker tube instead of the drippers… all the excess tubing was driving me nuts, and with top dressing I was bound to fudge something up . I was originally going to keep the cover crop going as a companion, but decided it would get too messy doing a Scrog grow. I’ll lay down some straw once I transplant.

After chopping and dropping I laid down some kashi blend and mixed the leaf litter down into the mulch layer and innoculated everything with some LABS. slapped a cover on and turned off the lights, now we wait for the wormy worms to do their thing in the 30 gallon while our baby kush gets her feet. Should be transplanting in a couple weeks!

Nice looking setup. I'd suggest that you get her in the big pot then start training.
What are you going to feed her?

I also grow living soil organic. I grow outside. From what I see you have allready thought this threw. But you may enjoy this link. Very good stuff.

Will be fallowing your grow.

Thank you! Should have her in the 30 gallon within the next week or so! From there I’ll be topping 2-3 times and I’ll be staking her down and spreading her out as I work my way to the edges of the pot. My soil is on its first round so I’ll be going light on the feedings throughout the grow, in order to maintain the health of my soil over time. I’ll be using craft blend, gnarley barley, big 6 (micro nutrients), a few different foliar combinations, worm castings, among other things which I’ll note as we make our way through the grow!

I wish I could grow outside but I’m afraid it would attract some unruly spectators in the neighborhood I live in… maybe one day!

Thank you for the resources, I’ll check those videos out this weekend. Thanks for following along!

My soil was old lake bottom. 2/3 Sandy loam from the local bush, 1/3 home made compost and worm castings
Inoculated with Labs and Microbe solution. cover crop was white clover. Left it in a pile on the ground for a year.
In the fall I turned it then covered with a tarp.

I prepared 15 gallon pots.
Did this

2 weeks later I planted my seedlings.

I am a gardener been doing this for years in the flower beds but began making JLF for my weed 2 years ago. I started with this, there are no weeds JLF in a 55 gallon drum. But rather than just rain water I gave it 2 buckets of Microbe solution and a gallon of Labs. Let it cook in the sun in a black drum and added to it all summer. As I used it in the gardens and my plants.

Last fall. I took the above solution and added all of the wast material from last years grow. Ended up with 4 buckets full of
green gold. Super fertilizer made from my own cannabis plants for this years cannabis. This stuff stinks to high heaven but the plants love it.

I then poured the 4 - 20 L buckets back into the original drum and let it cook over fall winter and spring, used it this summer.

Won't be long now and I will have another load of green matter from this years grow in the drum that is about 1/2 full.
This Cannabis JLF is the base for my feeding regiment.

In a 20 L bucket I mix
1 L of the cannabis JLF
1/2 L Wood Ash Solution
1L Microbe Solution.
Once a month or so I make up a batch of Labs and add a liter
I have made Cal Mag but the wood ash and early season bone meal make it redundant.

To this I can bump it up with a cup of Chicken Poo JLF in the bucket if I need more nitrogen.
I have Urea and several Nitrogen boosters cooking to choose from.
Top the bucket off with rain water give it a mix and ladle it into my watering can and water my plants buy hand.

I made up a batch of Blooming mix a while ago, just in time. My plants seem to like it as well.

So far so good.
I'm happy with the results so far.

Wow! Impressive… i imagine the satisfaction from growing with that kind of foresight and patience is unmatched, always looking ahead, and utilizing the biomass you have avaliable. I hope to get a small patch of land sometime in the future and my goal will be to do as you’re doing, and use the resources I have available to build my own soil and amendments. One day!

Ya it does take a little room. Not a lot but some kind of out of the way space.
Any way I'm going to keep an eye on your progress. Bet you end up with a killer plant!

Right on! Look forward to chatting with you along the way. Have a good day!

Pretty tight node spacing so far, might dial the light down a notch to get some reach out of her.

It’s Aliiiive! 😱

Today we transplanted the Kush Mintz into the 30 gallon/blumat setup… Let’s see how she likes it!

The plan for now is to Scrog this gal out and fill up the 4x4, but her node spacing is super tight and she’s a squatty one so we will just have to see if it pans out. If I can’t get any stretch out of her I’ll just do some LST and try to spread her wings and let ‘er rip!

P.S. Don’t mind the weird looking veiny feet in the corner! Fisheye lens got ‘em lookin wild 🤣
