The southwest spring will be here soon. It’s what most people call fall. A lot of firsts here: first 5x5 tent, first no till, and first Mephisto run. I’m running in 2 30 gal bags and i’ll being using some Olla’s to help with watering. Everything else will be decided on the fly.

I couldn’t afford the BAS 3.0 so I bought a Clackamas nutrient kit from KIS and all the perlite, EWC, Compost and black soldier fly frass from AZ Worm Farm. SPM was from the big box store. $140 vs over $300 for premade. I mixed it up today and I’m going to let it cook until temps in my non AC garage are favorable. My goal is to grow enough once a year from October to March with no till.

Alright, I’ll be back in October ✌️

Oh, now you’re using 30 gallon bags! If you would’ve use them over the summer, you might’ve been able to pull off a harvest! Hardheaded, old Gila, monster!😄🌵🐒
Lol, i went straight into the ground! I had plenty of other hearty plants fry too. It was a rough summer! Thank god it’s almost over. I need to move to Bucarias MX and retire on a beach, J in one hand and cerveza in the other

Man, does that sound good! You’ll get there one day! Good to see you getting back at it! I just quit my job this week! Full-time loafer now! But this is my last stop before the incinerator! You are still a young Welp! L O L

Nice!! Hit the road and do some traveling. Plenty of good camping and traveling will keep you out of the fires of hell for a few more years. 😂

My neighbor reminds me that it’s not too late to avoid the fire and brimstone! I just tell him he has it all wrong! That this is hell! I like to send them away shaking their heads! L O L! He’s a good guy, though! Tied to these plants for the next three months! That’s the life of a wannabe farmer!🌵🐒

A month and a half later… a mishmosh of shit. I cooked the soil outside and brought all the gnats in with it, lol. Gotta get some worms! Hard to see with the cover crop but just sprouted a couple days ago. I’m feeling as lucky as the Dbacks! 🐍🐍🐍

Fuck, naturesliving hasn’t eliminated the gnats one bit. I’m not sure if their soil revival is worth it. I ordered MIbeneficials and it’ll be here by Wednesday. Plants look on track so fingers crossed despite the gnats. I added about 100 worms per container! Happy fuckers from big to tiny little microscopic fuckers in a healthy soil. I’m going to feed them some sprouted barley and oats blended up
With some compost and EWC.

I forgot how painful growing auto’s during veg is. Love the worms and mulch layer. I fed them sprouted barley and some oats and man did they get active. It’s getting serious going into last week of veg. Go Cards! Murray is back!

Wow, nice growth for 20 days 👍

I'm in AZ myself.. digging this setup you have going with the worms and such. Ever need any top dressing with meals or neem cake etc?
Or is the idea to just feed the worms?

I mixed 1/4c coots mix per plant with some local compost and top dressed a week ago. Its has all the cakes and meals in it with a sprinkle of minerals. I just do the oats and barley when I water. I read that wrigglers like oats, not sure how it impacts the plants.
